Episode 3 of Are You Sure? Season 2 was released on December 10 and continues to attract major attention from fans around the world. Jungkook and Jimin brought viewers back to ѕωιтzєяℓαи∂ with breathtaking winter footage of Europe—from cycling and skiing to the thrilling yet captivating paragliding challenge. The simple, everyday and sincere moments of the BTS duo once again won the hearts of au∂ιєnces.
Alongside the romantic scenery, the episode also shares several emotional stories. One notable scene shows Jungkook meeting a local ARMY who burst into tears simply because he recognized her and waved so tenderly. Meanwhile, the story of how Jungkook first really liked a girl when he was in 8th grade caused a stir among fans for being both adorable and heartfelt coming from the “Golden Maknae.”
The episode also touches on moments from their military service, as filming took place just about a week after Jungkook and Jimin were discharged. Because of that, many real experiences from the army were told naturally throughout the episode, including some parts that left fans feeling emotional.
While chatting together, the young duo suddenly recalled how a number of scars were formed during their service. Jungkook initiated the topic, saying, “Still, it’s a memory, you know? Of when you got hurt.” Jimin then chimed in with laughter: “The 3 stitches I got in the army?”, and Jungkook pointed out that he also had several scars on his arms.

The Golden Maknae later shared that when he got the biggest scar, he could hardly realize what he was doing at the time. Jungkook only remembered that his body was extremely exhausted, and while holding a shovel, he unconsciously leaned his arm against a hot pan. Jimin was surprised and asked, “You pressed your arm on a hot pan?”, to which Jungkook confirmed that was exactly how the scar “was born.”
Fans already knew that Jungkook and Jimin enlisted together and fulfilled 18 months of service in the 5th Infantry Division’s Artillery Brigade. During his service, Jungkook worked in logistics—specifically in the military kitchen, which also explains why he mentioned handling shovels, large pans and working in the kitchen every day.
Normally, a military kitchen has to prepare meals for dozens or even hundreds of sol∂ιєrs. Harsh working conditions, oversized cooking equipment, high temperatures and intense labor routines make burns and injuries almost unavoidable. Combined with the fact that Jungkook barely had time to rest and constantly worked under heavy physical pressure, it is understandable how such α¢¢ι∂єитs could occur.
Even before Jungkook revealed this story, many ARMYs had already noticed the scars on his arms back in June 2024, when he appeared at Jin’s discharge ceremony. Wearing his uniform with sleeves rolled above the elbow, fans spotted visible burn marks around his arms.

During a livestream that December, when Jungkook was on military leave, fans once again noticed the marks. At that time, many s peculated they were caused by the army kitchen and later turned into scars due to a lack of proper treatment.
Although a brief moment, this exchange was enough to make fans understand that the military period for Jungkook and the BTS members over the past three years was far from easy. But as Jin comforting reαѕѕured, it is fortunate that “all the members came back from the military without a big α¢¢ι∂єит.” Fans expressed how moved they were to see Jimin and Jungkook now talk about these experiences so lightly:
- I can't help but see the scars on their body now. My heart is not okay. Hate military
- Jungkook is an Army chef, another endearing talent , an idol that loves to cook and good at it. He’s an all rounder person and artist.
- I’m gonna cry… let me kiss it better, I swear I’d do anything for them.
- My heart hurts thinking about how tired they must have been…
- They really went through so much in the military, I’m so proud and so sad at the same time.
- Jungkook cooking for so many people every day… he must have been exhausted
- Jimin having four wounds?? I can’t even imagine… please protect them forever.
- They talk about it so casually but it must have been really painful
- I just wanna give them both a big hug, they didn’t deserve to suffer like that
- Hearing it directly from them breaks my heart but I’m glad they feel safe to share now
