Fandom ARMY is known to be one of the largest and most enthusiastic fan communities for idols. However, in fact, like many other fan communities, there are toxic individuals in the ARMY fandom and that greatly affects the members as well as other genuine ARMYs.
In particular, recently, the issue of interaction between fans and members has received more attention when many BTS members spoke out about receiving weird comments during the live broadcast. Jungkook also experienced an unhappy case during his latest broadcast this morning (KST).
That's when a fan asked him to cut his hair shorter and Jungkook gave his answer. At Jungkook's reaction, ARMYs felt very angry at this fan's action:
The trend of loving idols is not too strange for everyone. Even as society improves, fans build love and support for a star into an idol fan culture. That is completely positive and has a positive effect on the spirit of life.
However, idol fandom is only cultural when fans know their limits here and express their love for celebrities in the right way. It will become ugly and condemnable when fans act excessively, even to the point of fanaticism, and make others uncomfortable or ȟɥȑț.
This is one of the problems that the BTS fan community is facing lately. There are many fans whose actions or words lack subtlety and it makes the members' live broadcasts uncomfortable. V and RM are the two who directly called out some fans who need to rethink about their comments.
Soon after, though other ARMYs asked fans in the community for more polite comments and suggestions on how to improve the situation, it continued. The next member with this bad experience is Jungkook. He returned to the live broadcast through Weverse Live after returning from the premiere of IU and Park Seo Joon's 'Dream'.
A few hours earlier, Jungkook surprised fans by appearing at the movie's premiere alongside V. Among the many things about their attendance that caught the attention of fans was the hairstyle. of Jungkook almost immediately became a hot topic.
Last week, after being spotted at Coachella, the singer shared a photo of himself with a new hairstyle on Weverse. In the caption, he wrote that he cut his bangs to change his appearance and blend in with the crowd at the festival without being recognized but still being discovered by ARMYs in the end.
Jungkook is currently wearing a mullet hairstyle and his bangs are cut across his eyebrows. ARMYs are excited about this hairstyle as it accentuates Jungkook's handsome, cute face even more. That's why it became prominent when he appeared in the movie premiere.
While most fans can't be bored with his new haircut, there are still many who think it's weird and hate the style. When Jungkook was talking to fans, an ARMY commented and asked him to cut his hair. Jungkook just happened to realize it when looking at the comments section.
Although it was an impolite request, in response, he politely declined the idea and said that he would do it when he was satisfied with the lengthening. Jungkook said: "Cut my hair? When the time comes, I'll cut it.. let me grow it until then".
Although Jungkook's answer was polite and composed, ARMYs were not satisfied with the situation. Many felt that the comment crossed the line with the BTS member:
- DON'T TELL HIM CUT HIS HAIR NOOOO Just leave it alone until it's gone!!!
- SLAYS every hairstyle I don't care let it last.
- Noo don't tell or ask him to cut his hair. Let him grow it out as long as he want.
- please don't make weird comments. let him be himself please provide support for him so he can be comfortable and we can interact with him as before
- Send hearts only in live he is not reading comments he said
- HOW RUDE asking to cut his hair?!! Who give you the RIGHTS TO TELLING WHAT TO DO ?!!!pls dont become annoying army!remember you do not have any rights tp tell the boys what to do!!
- So tired of some of u guys always bugging him let him do whatever he wants
- Don’t listen to them Jungkookie .you look really pretty in long hair. Plz don’t cut it
- I don't understand why our boys see only these negative comments...n not the good comments. are those ppl sending multiple msgs or why only they can see those msgs
- BABY YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO CUTE ? @BTS_twt do whatever you like with it everything suits you <3
- how many times did he say that he wants to keep it long.. he'll cut it when its time...
- ohgod stop telling him what to do
- Also pls stop telling him what to do...seriously how many times we gotta go through this
- let jungkook have his fun, he’s his own person and he can do whatever he likes. i sw3ar if i see another comment about telling him to cut his hair or change it someone is dying
- We need to takeover weverse and start commenting good things on the tannies lives this is becoming ridiculous most of the comments are cringy af!! Like why tell him to cut his hair? Why tell him to speak English? And tell him to go sleep? AREN'T THEY TIRED ALREADY FROM THIS BULLSH1T
Not only that, but also in this very live broadcast, Jungkook decided to turn off the fan comments to focus on the conversation and feel at ease. Fans believe this is a good solution to avoid him getting ȟɥȑț by the rude comment.
This is not the first time that ridiculous comments have been made on Weverse Live broadcasts in recent times. ARMYs are increasingly worried about how difficult it will be for the members and feel uncomfortable to continue to face the same situation later. Fans are constantly expressing their wish that Weverse's live viewers pay more attention to what they write to the members.
