Jungkook has always been known as an idol with a heart of gold—someone who treats everyone around him with gentleness and respect. While many celebrities often find themselves caught up in scandals due to their attitudes, over the past 10 years—from a teenager to a fully grown K-pop superstar—Jungkook has not once been criticized for his character.
One of the core reasons Jungkook has become the person we see today lies in the care he received from the other six BTS members since he was a 15-year-old maknae. Jungkook himself once openly admitted that all of the members took part in raising him. He was deeply influenced by the six of them throughout his growth, and the entire group agreed with that statement. He even firmly said, “They are all good to me.”

Clearly, each of the older members holds a one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable place in Jungkook’s heart, which is why choosing just one among them has never been an easy task for the Golden Maknae. However, if he had to name the one person who has never raised his voice at him, Jungkook would call out SUGA. SUGA’s gentle patience toward Jungkook taught the youngest member how to treat others with the same kindness.
Specifically, Jungkook revealed that SUGA is the only member who has never scolded him in over 10 years, ever since he moved into BTS’s dorm. The Golden Maknae even confidently stated, “SUGA-hyung will never scold me.”
During a live broadcast, Jungkook once shared that he had asked SUGA to teach him how to play the piano, only to be refused. The reason for the refusal was nothing complicated—SUGA simply didn’t want to end up scolding Jungkook if he made mistakes while practicing. Scolding Jungkook seems to be soмєтнing that simply doesn’t exist in “tsundere” SUGA’s dictionary.
Similarly, at a fan signing event, when asked whether he ever scolded the members, SUGA admitted that he had done so to the other members—but never to Jungkook. He further explained why he always keeps in mind that he should never raise his voice at the youngest: "Because doing so to a child is inappropriate", he replied.

SUGA has witnessed Jungkook’s growth and perhaps realized that the youngest member did not have an easy childhood. While many other children were cared for by their parents, picked up and dropped off, and enjoyed the simple joys of childhood, 15-year-old Jungkook came to Seoul alone, struggling through competitions with older and more experienced trainees in order to debut in the official lineup. There were times when he didn’t get enough to eat or enough sleep—and playing around was a luxury.
In SUGA’s eyes, Jungkook was truly a very good kid, and he wanted to treat him with the greatest care. He must have believed that his gentleness could help this child feel loved and suffer a little less during those teenage years.
Thanks to SUGA’s unwavering kindness over the years, Jungkook grew up with a bright spirit and a compαѕѕionate heart. That influence shaped the way he communicates with others. This is why anyone who works with Jungkook is impressed not only by his talent, but also by his kindness.

Although SUGA may appear cold and reserved on the outside, he actually has a warm heart and his own unique way of expressing affection. The way he treats Jungkook—and the other members—proves just how deeply he cares about them.
Another moment that further highlights SUGA’s character was when the remaining members enlisted. RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook enlisted in December, while SUGA had begun his military service three months earlier. Under normal circumstances, it would have been difficult to request leave, but he worked hard for three months without taking a single day off—just to save up two rare days of leave so he could see his younger brothers off.
In the end, BTS truly is a family. The way they have grown together has created a bond that the whole world can’t help but admire—and even envy.
