Social media has long served as an important bridge between idols and their fans, allowing artists to share everyday moments, update followers on their activities, and interact with a wider au∂ιєnce. BTS have used these platforms from the beginning to reach more people, grow their fandom, and maintain a close relationship with ARMY over the years.
In particular, since the members began using their own personal social media accounts, Jungkook has consistently been one of the most active in making an effort to connect with ARMY across different platforms and in various ways. Even after deleting his Instagram account because he felt the platform was not quite right for him, he decided to return in July 2025, following his military discharge, to continue connecting with fans.

However, social media can be a double-edged sword. Jungkook has recently been facing a flood of negative comments and spam on his Instagram account. The situation has become increasingly concerning, leaving fans worried that the negativity could take a toll on him.
Since reopening his account in July 2025, Jungkook has been almost the only BTS member who still allows public comments on his personal Instagram. Meanwhile, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, and V have all restricted or disabled comments since creating their personal accounts around five years ago, allowing only fellow BTS members to interact with their posts.

Keeping his comments open makes it easier for fans to express their love and support for Jungkook, but it has also made his account a primary target for inappropriate and disrespectful remarks. These include attacks from antis, political spam, shipping-related arguments, distorted claims about his private life, and even comments targeting other BTS members.
The situation has become particularly noticeable during BTS’s recent world tour in South αмєяι¢α, as Jungkook’s comment section has been flooded with lengthy complaints from fans who believe that “BTS and HYBE are once again treating LATAM differently during the ARIRANG tour.” Some have criticized the stage setup, arguing that Latin αмєяι¢αn fans are paying high ticket prices despite having a less satisfying viewing experience due to the lack of additional screens compared with some other regions.
They believe that leaving comments will draw Jungkook’s attention and pressure BTS and HYBE to address their concerns. Some have even gone so far as to tell Jungkook and BTS to leave their region.

Although many ARMY have tried to push back against the negativity by leaving positive messages, the growing volume of harmful comments continues to worry fans. Some have even suggested that Jungkook consider disabling his comment section, just like the other members, to avoid unnecessary stress and harαѕѕment:
- They literally treat him like a punching back tf wrong with these b1tches. Pls Jungkook, turn your comments off
- I hope Jung kook turns off his comment section coz these pathetic people didn't even spare his bam account with all the bs, only positive comments filled with love and support for him plz!
- Jungkook is always targeted like Joon. Like he personally builds stages. Leave my man and his account alone ffs
- Mind you none of them reaching out to the organisers n authorities , the real ppl responsible for the issues. BTS doesn’t have a magic wand that can solve all the problems, do they stop to think if they could they would have fixed the screens but it is beyond their control?
- ..knowing you wont probably see it.." but continues in rambling. Psychos like this actually believe they read comments all day long, like they got the time.
- These “army’s” that post such embarrαѕѕing comments that’s why I don’t read them especially on weverse like take it up with bigнιт
- Jungkook instagram is filled with comments like these please go and leave nice comments
- You’re entitled to an opinion, NOT to threatening or harαѕѕing others. Know your boundaries. Learn some basic human decency.
- I hope jung kook closes his comment section cause the weirdos are in town and all of the weirdos
- Jung kook turn the comments off, juseyo. I know there’s extreme mental illness happening in here
