Jungkook is known to be a muscular guy with amazing strength. He possesses a masculine and strong appearance but inside he also has a sensitive personality, especially when it comes to things related to BTS and ARMY.
He is also not afraid to be true to himself and his feelings. He can cry in front of ARMY and BTS. And even when asked about the tears he shed, he had a very smart and mature answer.
Jungkook has almost grown up in front of the spotlight and had experiences people his age could never imagine. Although his performances seem like someone with experience beyond his years, he is still the group’s youngest member and sometimes shows the weak part in soul of a young man.
For example, Jungkook can endure the hardships of practicing choreography or not show fatigue with a packed schedule, but he can cry when he sees his hyungs tired or difficult and he couldn't do anything to help them. He can be cool when performing in front of ARMY but can't hold back his tears when he feels their love for him or when he says goodbye after every concert.
However, despite everything, Jungkook has always been very open about his feelings and has never been afraid to let his members and ARMYs see a more vulnerable side of himself. Even a clip of Jungkook bursting into tears during the Love Yourself concert became famous on social media and has been viewed nearly 400,000 times.
This made the interviewer Jungkook in an interview become curious. Interviewer Jungkook pointed out that Jungkook cried a lot during that tour. However, instead of denying it, Jungkook was very vocal, explaining, “I don’t think crying is embarrassing.”
Jungkook then went on to explain that he wasn’t ashamed to say he cried because it will probably happen a lot more in the future, adding that there were a lot of moments during the show that made him feel emotional. He said: "Because I’m sure there’ll be more times I’d be crying. There were many touching moments".
Although crying is normal and ARMYs have seen Jungkook do it before, the youngest member of BTS has admitted that he seems to do it even more during the tour. He continued: "I guess I cried more easily than before at the end of the tour and during ‘Speak Yourself.’ I did cry more than before".
In the end, rather than sharing the negative connotations that come with crying, Jungkook believed that his tears show that he’s a person who is full of so many positive traits, and even shared that he couldn’t promise it wouldn’t happen again. He told that: "Sincerity! Sensitivity! Let’s just say I’m full of those! I can’t promise I won’t cry in the future".
All of the BTS members have never been afraid to show their emotions. Throughout the years, ARMYs have gone through all the highs and the lows with the group, appreciating the closeness that allows the members to be vulnerable.
In a society where there have been expectations for men to be strong and not show emotions, Jungkook’s outlook on crying is refreshing and something that should be admired. Rather than a sign of weakness, crying shows strength and confidence in sharing how you are feeling.
