As fans already know, during a recent Instagram Live broadcast by V, Jungkook made a surprise appearance with a new personal account, marking his return to the platform after two years since deleting his previous account with 50 million followers in February 2023.
The return of BTS’s youngest member to Instagram has recently caused fans to erupt with joy, as it offers another platform to get updates from him. Under the new username @mnjungkook, he attracted millions of followers within just a few hours, proving that his popularity has never waned.
However, despite this being his second time using Instagram, it seems that the relationship between Jungkook and the platform still isn’t entirely smooth sailing. Fans quickly noticed a few changes Jungkook made to his personal account within just five days, which even sparked some concerns.
If you think using an Instagram account is simple — posting whatever you like, regardless of the content — think again. For the Golden Maknae, his standards are much higher!
Specifically, about five days ago, Jungkook posted for the first time on his account since creating it. The post featured a yellow “JK” logo on a green background with the song “Standing Next to You” playing. Although the post had no caption, it quickly gained nearly 18,000 likes and over 2,000 comments within minutes.
However, less than a day later, around 2 a.m. LA time (where Jungkook is currently staying with other BTS members), he made a move that left fans both amused and frustrated: he deleted the only post and changed his profile picture to a black background with a gray logo — though it was still the same symbol used for his GOLDEN album.
His profile took on a completely minimalistic look, surprising fans and prompting many to wonder whether he was once again struggling with how to organize or style his Instagram feed.
This isn’t the first time Jungkook has found himself in such a situation. Before deleting his account in 2023, he had frequently experimented with different layouts or styles for his personal posts. At one point, he even deleted all previously posted photos to start a new layout.
That perfectionism once led ARMYs to bring in j-hope — known back then as the most stylish BTS member on Instagram. A fan jokingly asked j-hope on Weverse whether he had “taught” Jungkook how to curate his Instagram, to which j-hope replied with a prophetic answer: “ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I told him that it’s going to be really~ difficult~ later on”.
And just as j-hope said, after some time of struggling with his layout, Jungkook eventually decided to completely quit Instagram, stating that he felt it didn’t suit him. However, many fans believed it was mostly due to his high aesthetic standards and inability to find a solution that satisfied him.
Now, with this comeback, a similar pattern seems to be emerging — making fans worry and ask: “Is Jungkook really comfortable being on Instagram, or is it still a place that doesn’t feel right for BTS’s youngest?”
Meanwhile, some fans pointed out that Jungkook might have noticed a large number of negative comments from antifans — including sensitive language — under the post, which could have prompted him to delete it to avoid trouble.
Regardless of the reason, fans sincerely hope that Jungkook doesn’t feel pressured using this social media platform, so that the past won’t repeat itself once again:
- I just want Jungkook to feel comfortable and happy, that’s all.
- I think he’s overthinking the layout again. Perfectionist Jungkook strikes
- He probably didn’t like how it looked on the grid… clαѕѕic JK behavior
- It’s giving ‘aesthetic crisis’ and we’ve seen it before
- Jungkook trying to make his IG feed perfect is so real and so him.
- He just wants everything to look right… even if it means deleting everything again TT
- He deserves peace, not hate. Why do people keep ruining good things?
- Jungkook, don’t stress over social media. We love you regardless!”
- Maybe Instagram really isn’t his thing, and that’s okay. I respect all his decision
- It breaks my heart knowing he might have seen those comments
- The fact he even came back means a lot to us. Let’s create a safe space for him this time.
- I just wish he closes the comments, i can't stand all the psychos that will use them against him
