Jin is now 34 years old, and most men his age have typically dated and settled down—some even have children already. However, due to his focus on his career as an idol and his dedication to fans, he remains single to this day. Throughout more than a decade of activities with BTS, Jin has also largely stayed free of any significant dating rumors.
Recently, however, it seems that Jin’s “romantic luck” may be catching up with him—perhaps because he has reached an age where even fans hope he can find personal happiness!

For example, in early April, a post on Nate Pann went viral, spreading dating rumors between Jin and actress Shin Se-kyung, garnering nearly 100,000 views. The post presented several “pieces of evidence,” including her attendance at Jin’s concert, wearing similar jackets, and owning BTS’s latest merchandise. Notably, instead of opposing the rumor, many fans showed support and even wished it were true. In reality, however, the two are simply close friends following a past collaboration.
More recently, during the Amajin Hot Event on the evening of the 22nd, Jin υиєχρє¢тє∂ly received a confession from a fanboy—his junior from high school—live on broadcast. Faced with such a unique situation, Jin responded gently: “Alright. Congratulations. Because loving someone is a freedom.” His reaction, along with the phrase “loving someone is a freedom,” quickly became lengend within the fandom.
That said, these situations ultimately stem from rumors or social media moments. What fans are truly curious about is what Jin would be like in an actual dating scenario—and this is exactly why a particular moment from an episode of Run Jin has recently regained attention!
At the beginning of the episode, Jin had no prior knowledge of the mission. Upon seeing a strawberry milk placed across from him and noticing the outfit prepared by the staff, he deduced that he was about to go on a blind date. And from that moment on, a version of him that fans had “never seen so nervous before” emerged.

Right from the start, he couldn’t hide his awkwardness: “I really shouldn’t be going on blind dates… This is so nerve-racking,” he said with an embarrαѕѕed smile. He then admitted honestly: “I’m not good at talking to women.” Looking at his outfit, Jin also remarked: “So this is why they got me a nice outfit today. There’s even a huge hole in these jeans. No wonder they made me look cool,” while the staff humorously added the caption: [Conservative guy’s definition of cool. Exposed knees].
As he waited for his “date,” Jin kept muttering to himself, running through a series of questions: “I’ve never done this before. I don’t know what to talk about. How should I start off? Have you eaten yet? What’s your hobby? Do you like games? What kind of games do you play? What games are you good at?... I like PlayStation,” a sequence humorously described as “questions even Faker wouldn’t ask.”
Although it wasn’t a real date, Jin’s genuine expressions and reactions alone were enough to make ARMY’s hearts melt. His nervousness in preparing for a date evoked the feeling of a first love—awkward yet sincere. It also revealed a completely different side of him: while au∂ιєnces are used to seeing a confident “Worldwide Handsome” on stage, all those defenses seemed to disappear in a dating scenario, leaving behind a pure, earnest, and slightly introverted young man.
On the other hand, instead of using sweet talk or the polished charm often seen in K-dramas, Jin fumbled with simple, everyday topics drawn from his own life. Ironically, it was precisely this clumsy charm and relatable conversation style that became his ultimate appeal, capable of making anyone fall for him at first glance. As for ARMY, many jokingly declared that they wouldn’t even be able to sit across from him in a real date.
Fans shared a wide range of amusing reactions to this side of Jin, commenting: "I was rolling on the floor when he said this", "Putting “don’t watch if you don’t want to marry Jin” is such a wrecking statement ", "He really thought", "He was so nervous over a blind date setup, that’s actually adorable. Jin deserves to experience love like this for real", "The way he kept practicing questions to himself… I can’t", "Someone please take him on a real date already!", "Not Jin overthinking like it’s his first love",...
