Kian's Bizarre B&B, which follows Jin, comic book author Kian84, and comedian Ji Ye Eun as they take on the challenge of running a small guesthouse on an isolated island, ended its nine-episode run on the 22nd of this month. But the show's lingering impact remains deep in the hearts of fans.
On the same day, an X post by @i_luv_bts_jhope drew a lot of attention from netizens when she shared her thoughts on Jin's actions towards a North кσяєαn defector in an episode of Kian's Bizarre B&B. Notably, she mentioned that she has a master's degree in North кσяєαn Stu∂ιєs, further showing a more in-depth perspective on this.
In the last 3 episodes of Kian's Bizarre B&B aired on Netflix on the 22nd, a guest named Chung-il suddenly appeared with the story of a person who escaped from North кσяєα at the age of 12 with her sister and found his way to a new life.
Note that for the past 70 years, the relationship between North кσяєα and South кσяєα has always been tense. On the other hand, according to the sharing of a master's degree in North кσяєαn stu∂ιєs, she also mentioned the context that: "The reality is, South кσяєαn society still tends to keep its distance when someone is identified as a North кσяєαn defector. The stares get colder. That’s why many of them don’t speak about where they’re from".
However, Jin showed his boundless heart, which was shown through his sincere interactions with Chung-il.
What made this episode stand out more than usual was the way Jin called Choongil "my friend", jokingly called him "honey" and treated him without prejudice despite the fact that he was a кσяєαn superstar idol.
In one episode, Jin bonded with his North кσяєαn friend by overcoming endurance challenges. The two are the only ones who can climb a 5-meter rope near the top. Jin soon began to affectionately call him, "My friend."
In episode 8, right before going on a sightseeing trip, Chung-li realizes that his sunglαѕѕes are broken. Disappointed, he expressed it aloud—only for Jin to step in and quietly offer him a brand new pair of sunglαѕѕes, which he brought specifically for the show.
Taken aback, Chung-il promised to cherish them as a family heirloom. Jin, brushing them off with a smile and a commitment, told him that the glαѕѕes have found their rightful owner.
Later in the episode, Jin jokingly calls himself "Honey (Jagia)" after seeing a couple at the B&B calling like that.
In particular, the Master fan also highlighted a moment involving кσяєαn-style tofu rice, which Jin and the house's owner Kian prepared for Chung-il on their last night at the Kian's homestay. Not only was it his favorite childhood dish, but it was also a dish αѕѕociated with reunion and care in the defector community.
OP shared that tofu rice is often served by their North кσяєαn friends during national holidays, symbolizing warmth, care, and community.
That's why upon seeing the dish, Chung-li shed tears, revealing that it had been 15 years since he last ate it. The dinner became a quiet but powerful moment of recognition and remembrance.
The post ended with a message of gratitude to Seokjin and the show. Online, ARMYs expressed similar sentiments, praising Jin and Kian's crew for their empathy, sincerity, and the safe space they provided for their special guests:

- What truly captivated me about the "bizarre B&B" was its compelling plot twists. Beyond the unforgettable experience it offered guests, I loved how they also managed to weave in the perspectives, feelings, and experiences of others from diverse backgrounds
- Seokjin radicalised BTS." He has been a free thinker without any prejudice or bias with a huge heart. I am so glad that Kian’s Bizarre B&B showed this side of him to people who dismissed him as "just the funny and silly one" just because he never showed himself taking seriously
