Run BTS has long been considered one of BTS’s flagship entertainment programs, accompanying the group for nearly a decade since its launch in 2015. From 2015 to 2021, a total of 155 episodes were released, attracting around 140 million views on YouTube. An additional 10 special episodes released in 2022 and 2023 also recorded over 130 million views, demonstrating the program’s remarkable and enduring popularity.
With a diverse format that includes games, challenges, and interactive activities, the show not only brings laughter but also helps fans better understand the members’ personalities and their bond. Therefore, during the nearly four years of BTS’s group hiatus—which led to the suspension of Run BTS!—fans have been eagerly longing for the return of this нιт series in the spring of 2026.
As expected, right after making their full-group comeback with their fifth studio album ARIRANG, BTS officially relaunched the show with an upgraded version titled “Run BTS 2.0.” On April 7, the 12-minute opening episode was released on Bangtan TV, where the members gathered to discuss the direction of the new season. The atmosphere was both serious and humorous, as the members continuously proposed creative ideas to keep up with the rapidly evolving entertainment trends.

Notably, among a series of “breakthrough” suggestions, an υиєχρє¢тє∂ idea from j-hope quickly became the center of attention. Specifically, j-hope suddenly proposed: “Let’s go back to the military.” Jungkook immediately chimed in enthusiastically: “Hey, it’d be fun if we all went to the military together.” This suggestion was likely influenced by the 18 months the members spent fulfilling their military service in recent years.
While j-hope and Jungkook found the idea amusing, Jin’s reaction was completely the opposite. As soon as he heard the suggestion of “reenlisting,” Jin immediately objected: “What are you saying? That’s soмєтнing entirely different.” Not stopping at words, his facial expression quickly turned into a “living meme,” clearly showing his exhaustion, helplessness, and firm refusal of the idea.
After that, despite the other members continuing to joke around and imagine a “military version of Run BTS”—with Jimin adding, “We’d make our own barracks,” and RM saying, “All we need to do is put ‘we reenlisted’ on the video thumbnail”—Jin maintained his “no… not that” attitude, making it clear that he had no intention of “enlisting for a second time” in any form.
The contrast between one side’s over-the-top enthusiasm and Jin’s firm opposition created one of the funniest moments of the opening episode. While other members were always ready to throw out creative—and somewhat chaotic—ideas, Jin played the role of the “voice of reason,” quickly bringing things back to reality. Although his time in the military may not have been overly harsh, it was certainly far from the comfort of everyday life, making it understandable why Jin has no desire to experience it again. Many believe that just by looking at his expression, it’s clear how “traumatized” he is by the topic of military service.
On social media, this moment quickly went viral, accompanied by a wave of humorous comments from ARMYs such as:
- Is this why JK had his military uniform with him during their trip to NYC? What if?
- Our trauma is fun for them. No, sorry but I stand with Jin for this problem
- Namjoon doesn't mind with that military idea bcs now he get to do it with his members. Meanwhile, Jin wasn’t having any of it. He looked traumatized
- They just want to be together. God never separate my bangtan ever again
- Please why is Jungkook especially excited abt this, like one hyung wasn't enough, he wants to experience it all over again with 6 hyungs
- Jin was this close to disown them. His reaction is so funny. Just go camping in the woods as a group instead, guys
- Oh so they did LMAO just from they showing Jin being like “no, please, no” we know that DID lmaooooo
- The two things Seokjin wants nothing to do with going back to the military and learning to speak English. He’s not here for either of them
- The way they went on and on with their plans while jin was sweating just thinking about it
- Jin’s face said “I just got discharged and you want me to go back??” louder than words ever could
- The way everyone was having fun with the idea and Jin was just there like “absolutely not”… I felt that on a spiritual level
- Jin looked like he was reconsidering all his life choices sitting next to them. “Hyung has been through enough, please!”
