The close relationship among the members of BTS—one that goes far beyond a mere “business partnership”—has been widely recognized both inside and outside the fandom for more than a decade. People all over the world admire the beautiful friendship between the members and feel that they are no different from biological brothers living under the same roof.

Most people know that the BTS members are together virtually 24/7, but what fewer fans realize is that even their families are very close and frequently gather together. The seven families are like “small families” within one large extended clan, a connection that began with the seven members of BTS.

Over the past 12 years, fans have often spotted the members’ parents and siblings attending the group’s concerts together. Even when an individual member holds a solo concert, the families of all seven members can be seen sitting together in the au∂ιєnce, enthusiastically cheering them on. Fans also likely remember the touching moment when j-hope’s father hugged each BTS member one by one when he saw them for the first time in three years after his son’s military service, at j-hope’s concert.

In everyday life, the closeness between family members is no less evident than that of the idols themselves. For example, j-hope’s older sister and RM’s younger sister have been seen hanging out together multiple times and have even shared photos on social media. Jimin’s father and j-hope’s sister once sent congratulatory flower wreaths when RM’s younger sister opened her café in Seoul.

It is therefore understandable that Jin revealed the close relationship between his father and RM’s father during a livestream. What caught fans’ attention, however, was that their fathers are not only close but are longtime best friends who were once neighbors.

At the time, Jin cheerfully said, “Here’s a little TMI for you guys. My dad and Namjoon’s dad are best friends.” RM then smiled and confirmed, “They’re really close.” Jin then shared another detail that impressed fans even more: “The two of them meet up as often as Namjoon and I do. We see each other 360 days a year out of 365, and I think our dads are the same.”

RM, just as curious as fans about their fathers’ friendship, asked, “Why are they so close?” Jin then explained, “They used to live next to each other.” Namjoon immediately remembered, “Ah, right. Neighbors.” Jin continued with another sweet detail: “They’re neighbors. Back in the day, when we went back to the dorm from home, your mom and my mom would walk together. She’d go, ‘Oh, Jin’s here~.’”

The adorable story about their parents quickly became a hot topic on social media, as fans couldn’t believe that the bond between the two fathers was just as warm as the friendship between their sons. Many even imagined what the two “Kim dads” might look like when spending time together, based on the chemistry between Seokjin and Namjoon:
