On December 4, ARMYs around the world — as well as BTS — had their eyes on Jin, who celebrated his 33rd birthday, a year he described in his letter to fans on Weverse as one filled with “a lot of good things happened”: a solo album, a concert, and all the members returning safely from the military without a big α¢¢ι∂єит.
In the letter, the Worldwide Handsome shared his heartfelt gratitude for the fans who have supported him, while still keeping his usual humor: “Thanks to you, my birthday is back without much trouble haha. I always say this, but thanks to ARMY, I want to say thank you for working and living a happy life. ARMY, thank you always and I love you.”
Along with the letter, Jin also promised a live broadcast to celebrate his birthday with fans — soмєтнing they missed out on last year. True to his word, at 2 PM KST, he sang the birthday song, made a wish, and blew out the candles alongside fans worldwide on Weverse.
After chatting happily with fans about birthday topics, Jin ѕнσ¢кed fans when they realized he was working hard even on his special day. He talked about his schedule and the members’: “After doing the live, I'll practice choreography with the members, and then I'll have dinner with family.” Truly a global superstar — no exceptions!
Jin also shared that all the members were busy that day with both group and individual schedules. He said: “Some of the guys are doing brand ambαѕѕador work and some shooting ads and doing certain works. Bangtan choreographies, preparing for stages, album, and things like this. So we're all busy.”
Meanwhile, he humorously shared some funny stories from the practice room as his 33rd birthday approached. He didn’t hesitate to expose how the members have been teasing him about his age: “These days the members say this to me. ‘Hyung, you did this when you were my age! Wow, I respect you.’ ‘No I did that at your age, it was okay.’ ‘Oh I'm doing it now and it's so hard,’ they say like that. ‘I'm 2–3 years older now than then.’ ‘Wow you're so old!’”
He continued exposing V: “Then Taehyung will come in and say, ‘You're 40 years old, aren't you?’ ‘I'm not 40. I'm in my mid-30s.’ Then they say, ‘Is that all?’ and I say, ‘Please remember that I'm just 3 years older than you.’” But despite exposing their teasing, Jin actually enjoys it. He commented, “He's been teasing me for my age since I was 25! Even though there's only 3 years between us! So it's a bit unfair, but it's cute! He's cute, our Taehyungie.”
Jin also added a bit of TMI about the previous day, sharing that only he and SUGA went to the practice room. “Yesterday, it was decided that [practice] was cancelled and only people who wanted to come came, so Yoongi and I were doing practice. Since it was just the two of us and there were 5 spots мιѕѕιиg, we couldn't find our positions. We practiced some and I said, ‘Should we do this next time?’ And he said, ‘Yes, hyung, then let's go.’” he recalled fondly.
These adorable stories warmed fans’ hearts as spring 2026 approaches — the moment BTS will return as a full group — soмєтнing fans have waited nearly three years for. As Jin mentioned in his letter, having all the members back after finishing their military service is soмєтнing wonderful, and a precious birthday gift for him this year.
Aside from the stories Jin shared, several BTS members were also active on Instagram to wish him a happy 33rd birthday. Early in the morning, j-hope celebrated Jin by posting a rehearsal photo he took with Jin and Jungkook while preparing for the concert.
Meanwhile, RM and V were busy capturing moments behind the scenes right after Jin’s birthday live on Weverse. RM snapped a picture of Jin resting in the dance practice room, while V filmed a playful yet affectionate video of the two before the group began practice.
It’s been a long time since fans have seen such a lively birthday celebration for Jin on social media, thanks to all BTS members finally completing their military service.
