About giving Jin pocket money in the army, his brother frankly expressed his opinion and ARMYs could not deny his argument:

Most fans know that Jin has an older brother who is 2 years older named Kim Seok Jung and they have a lot in common in appearance and personality. Jin's brother got married in 2020 and Jin even became the host of his brother's wedding. Not only that, both Kim brothers are also running a famous ̾j̾a̾p̾a̾nese restaurant in Seoul.

Both brothers Seok Jin and Seok Jung have a very close relationship, they are even more like friends than brothers. That's why they love to tease each other like any other siblings. In particular, during Jin's time in the army, fans often visited Jin's brother's Instagram to witness funny stories between the cousins.

One time, fans suddenly discovered a "savage" conversation between him and his friend related to Jin. Specifically, below the comment section, Seok Jung's friend asked him if he had given "pocket money" to his younger brother. The person having the account name godeok_festival wrote: "Did you give him some pocket money so he can buy snacks at the PX? Should I have given him some?".

This person asked like that because Jin had just joined the army at that time. Normally, for new recruits, they will not bring any money or belongings other than the items allowed by the army, but some still secretly bring pocket money so they can buy food from the PX (Post Exchange). Meanwhile, PX means it is “a retail store on a m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ installation that sells goods and services to m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ personnel and their dependents as well as to certain authorized civilian employees.”

After receiving this comment, Jin's brother frankly replied, "I usually receive pocket money from him. You should just give your money to me, too". Well, older brother Jin always has the wittiest answers regarding his younger brother.
