Jin Opened Up About Losing Friends And Living A “Double Life”

Celebrity life seems to have changed the lives of BTS members a lot after 10 years. They get a lot of things, but they also have to trade a lot.

Jin once revealed the cost of becoming a celebrity. Not only that, but he also shows how popularity has affected the friendships around him?

We all know that the life of a K-pop idol is fierce. They have to struggle to debut, then it will be a period of hard work to succeed.

If they achieve an outstanding reputation, their life will turn to a new chapter - where everyone admires. But the highest place of fame is also the loneliest place.

Jin once talked about how different life is as a BTS Jin from the life of an ordinary Kim Seokjin.

“I think the two lives are the same,” he began, “but I don’t live them in the same way. I think Jin of BTS always lives a cheerful life.”

“As Kim Seokjin, not much has changed for me, and I’m living a really happy life. But as Jin of BTS, life may be a bit difficult on the other side. If you gain some, you lose some.”

Later, Jin also said that the celebrity life made people around him find it difficult to adapt to him. People will feel shy and aloof when talking to Jin because he has become someone that many others admire.

“There’s a lot of pressure to meet up with people. I haven’t changed, but my friends find it difficult to be around me", he said. “It’s quite a shame to see them grow apart from me.”

But the more painful thing that Jin shares, is that the price of fame is losing many friends. “I’ve lost a lot of people around me", he said.

Although some of Jin's relationships seem to have fallen out of favor the way he wanted them to, Jin is actually someone who treasures his friends. He always greets old friends and starts a conversation before he sees them. Many celebrities who are friends of Jin also share that the way he treats them is really sincere.

Jin also looks at what he has and is satisfied with it. Jin told: "What makes up who I am now is our fans, ARMY, and they are the reason I’m able to do music. Because so many people love seeing me on stage, and because I can make so many people happy, I become happy through them. That’s why I want to perform even more".
