Jin Candidly Defends BTS Members After Seeing Them Compared To Him

Since completing his mandatory military service in June 2025, Jin — the eldest member of BTS — has made an impressive comeback. Not only has he attracted attention with his solo music activities, but he has also quickly become one of the most sought-after faces in the advertising industry.

It seems that his two-year absence hasn’t diminished his appeal; on the contrary, it has only made the public and brands appreciate him even more. The number of solo endorsement deals Jin has secured in such a short period has left fans amazed.

From high-end fashion like GUCCI, luxury jewelry brands like FRED, food products such as Ottogi Jin Ramen, cosmetics like LANEIGE, to sports and tourism brands like Alo Yoga and Visit Seoul — the name “Jin” now represents a versatile icon that goes beyond the limits of a typical music idol.

Most recently, Jin was officially announced as the brand ambαѕѕador for Dongwon Tuna — a well-known name in South кσяєα’s food industry. Interestingly, this collaboration brings to mind his viral 2021 release Super Tuna.

Dongwon has released teasers filled with humor and playfulness that evoke memories of the song, and the company is expected to launch a full commercial along with a special edition tuna can featuring the idol’s image and custom stickers.

While fans were excited about Jin’s new campaign, an υиєχρє¢тє∂ controversy emerged within the fandom. On Weverse, a post comparing the number of solo brand endorsements among BTS members began circulating rapidly. In the image, Jin’s list of deals appeared long, while Jungkook was noted only for his work with Calvin Klein.

What stood out, however, was the eldest BTS member’s response to the debate. Not only did Jin view the post, but he also personally replied in a calm yet candid tone. He shared that judging members based on the number of endorsements was unnecessary, as all of them had received many offers.

He wrote: “Oh, it's just that I did a lot, but the other members actually get tons of ad offers too, like dozens or hundreds! They just choose not to do them. Even I've turned down more than a dozen myself... I think I'm gonna focus on what I'm doing now and probably won't take on any more...? (Though if soмєтнing I really like pops up, I might totally change my mind, haha!)”

This response, both humorous and thoughtful, was warmly welcomed by fans. They praised Jin for putting an end to unnecessary comparisons in a graceful way without creating tension:

- Yes, ARMYs, please stop comparing them… and this is for all of you who laughed at him back then.

- Its just a slap in face of solos who kept on comparing the boys to each other…just love how Jiin correct time without being rude

- Proof time n time again that bangtan choose themselves what they want to do. Dont mind pathetic akgae/solos who think they got sabotaged cuz each bangtan knows how to handle themselves

- he is such a humble human being, but i hope we don't post of a comparison photo like this on wv bec i don't want to make jin feel bad about the comparison... he might have turned down more offers or step back bec of this, thinking we're just comparing him with other members

- beating the “victim mentality” of solos for the members. THEY HAVE FULL AUTONOMY

- LOVE HOW HE CLEARED EVERYONE WHY THEY DONT HAVE SAME NUMBER OF ADS

- jin saw someone lowkey shading jungkook and shut that down so fast lmfaooo

- Seokjin is so secure in himself, he doesn't drag others down to uplift him, such a positive mindset to have. He's so humble, he doesn't have mean bone in his body. No ounce of jealousy, envy or hatred. Just happy, beautiful and big hearted

Many also recalled that before enlisting, Jin had signed only one endorsement deal — with Jin Ramen — showing his selective approach to brand collaborations. Even now, with multiple brand partnerships, each one seems to align well with his personality and interests.

Currently, Jin is also on his first solo tour after two years of absence, reconnecting with fans through live performances. Meanwhile, the remaining BTS members are in Los Angeles, preparing for the group’s comeback, which is expected to take place in spring 2026.
