BTS, who are currently preparing for a comeback targeted for the spring of 2026, connected with fans through a live broadcast on December 16. It had been four months since the group’s most recent live as all seven members, which took place while they were at a songwriting camp in the United States, where they were working on the album scheduled for release next spring.
On this day, BTS had entered the stage of choreography practice for their new song. j-hope explained, “So everyone, we actually turned on the live right after finishing dance practice.” The members then each showed small parts of the choreography they had been practicing, further entertaining fans. Meanwhile, V shared, “We’re really the type to suddenly go, ‘Oh, should we turn on a live?’ " and then they actually just start one, asking fans how they’ve been.
The members then engaged in an extremely chaotic conversation—very much in their signature style—which led ARMYs to exclaim, “We’re so back,” after three years of BTS’s group hiatus. From admitting that they are only about 10% prepared for their comeback, to expressing how much they miss fans, to lighthearted topics such as what uηdεrωεαr they were wearing that day, ideas about wearing suits and hosting a grand year-end or New Year’s live broadcast, and even RM recently getting his driver’s license—everything was openly shared during the roughly 30-minute broadcast.

One particularly notable moment came when Jin drew attention by announcing the end of what fans jokingly call his “wedding MC era” while the members were discussing their recent schedules. The conversation began when RM pointed out that some members—including Jin and V—had been absent from a recent group gathering at his new place. j-hope chimed in, saying, “Jin-hyung was busy, and Taehyung was busy.”
Jin then explained in more detail, saying, “I had a wedding to go to the next day,” prompting RM to recall, “Ah, that’s right—you hosted it.” As fans may remember, on December 13, Jin served as the host for the wedding of his close friend of 20 years - who "spent elementary, middle and high school days together".

At that point, Jin officially announced his retirement from hosting weddings, declaring, “Now I’m not going to host weddings anymore.” As for the reason, he explained, “My friends are all done now. They’re all married.” SUGA sympathized, noting that many of his own friends are also getting married. Jin continued, “Me too. Everyone around me is married, so I won’t even be going to weddings now.”
Prior to this announcement, fans had counted that Jin had served as a wedding MC at least 11 times in recent years—for friends and family alike—so frequently that fans jokingly referred to it as his “side job” whenever he had free time. On a more serious note, however, Jin has proven himself to be an exceptionally thoughtful and warm friend, always willing to take on the meaningful role of guiding a wedding ceremony and offering heartfelt blessings to the couple, despite his busy schedule and the fact that it is far from an easy task.

Fortunately for Jin, as his close friends have gradually all gotten married, he can now effectively retire from this role and devote his full energy and focus to BTS’s comeback next year—certainly with no shortage of things to do.
Just as Jin was sharing this sincere reflection on stepping away from his wedding MC duties, Jimin abruptly shifted the mood by asking a completely υиєχρє¢тє∂ question: “Hyung, next year, are you turning 50?” catching Jin off guard and making him burst into laughter. RM added to the playful exaggeration, saying, “It should be around that!” The members quickly returned to their usual teasing dynamic.
In the end, the happiest ones were ARMYs, who were able to listen to these stories in such an intimate and familiar way—making it feel as though any distance between BTS and their fans had completely disappeared. Regarding Jin’s retirement as a wedding MC, fans reacted by saying:
- But how about his 6 brothers? He can MC theirs.
- Wedding hosting career: officially retired! Welcome back full-time Worldwide Handsome Jin
- Well... Not ALL of your friends are married, Jin. We have 6 BTS members in the future
- Now what a time it would be for BTS to host each others weddings! Also, I'd love to see some married/partnered Army and BTS couple only events. Married/committed Armys know how to act about their faves having partners/wives/kids. Next up music and concerts for Army babies!
- Same Jin same. All my friends are also married too except me
- Yoongi and Jin, if you’re looking to join the ranks of your married friends, I can easily solve that for you
- Another day of Jin saying bts aren’t his friend’s. Dude you got 6 left to mc for, don’t retire just yet
- everybody getting married this year bc bts goes on tour 2026
- on the real tho I feel sad on their behalf :( I wonder how they feel knowing all their same age friends are married except for them. I can only hope their booed up rn
- honestly felt.. everyone i know is getting married or recently got married
