Jimin Shares How Living Up To ARMYs’ Expectations Effects His Life

For anyone, living up to expectations always makes people try and work harder than ever. But sometimes overwhelming or improper expectations turn into pressure.

Especially, with an artist like Jimin, he lives not only with the expectations of himself or his family but also has to accept many expectations from the fans, the public and many other things. It was definitely more of a burden than anything on his shoulders as well as the BTS members.

Perhaps many ARMYs haven't thought about this before, and now, Jimin has shared his thoughts on the life of a famous idol and the effects ARMYs' expectations have on his life.

BTS members are always representatives of an active lifestyle, hard work and dedication. They are the dream of many others because of their success and influence around the world.

But behind that, BTS also has to face a lot of other scary things. And in that are the expectations of others for them. Surely BTS also has high expectations of themselves and they set goals to fulfill it. However, what others want BTS to achieve is the most difficult thing because not only one expectation but countless millions of people out there looking at them.

Jimin once mentioned how other people's opinions affect his and BTS' lives. He began by explaining the true meaning of the song "Filter". In an interview with Spotify, he shared that the term can represent either the social media camera app or people's views and prejudices. But ignoring hundred of comments, he shared how he wanted to present himself to ARMYs in different ways with several colors.

He told that: "I wanted to live up to ARMY’s expectations and show them many different sides of myself. And I still have many different colors left to share."

Besides, he reflected on how being influenced by the opinions of others can make him appear, or "colorless": "I might have come across as being colorless instead of colorful if I’d have accommodated myself to other people’s ideas without having a distinct hue of my own"

Meanwhile, talking about "Friends", Jimin showed his perspective on how the people who matter most to him - BTS and ARMYs positively affect his life. Jimin said that BTS and ARMYs represent the people he cares about the most in life.

Just like his family, BTS and ARMYs also have expectations of Jimin but those expectations are not the same as others. Because they want Jimin to live his life and express himself comfortably in front of them. This has made Jimin much more confident.

He said, "But my “Friends” — the members and ARMY – were always there to help me remind myself of what my essence is, and keep myself centered. You are my ‘Proof.’"

With both the members and ARMY by his side, he is reminded of who he is and true to himself! In other words, ARMY and BTS faithfully reflect the lives of Park Jimin in real life and Park Jimin on stage!
