In BTS’s early years after debut, the group did not have the financial means they do today. Jimin once shared that before the group officially debuted, the members pooled their money to buy him a bracelet for his birthday — a gift he would never forget. Meanwhile, V even had to save every penny of his salary for a long time to afford the Gucci sweater worth around $1,100 that Jimin had always dreamed of owning.
Now that all BTS members are world-clαѕѕ K-pop superstars with multimillion-dollar fortunes, expensive gifts are no longer much of a challenge. That is why j-hope once said, “I gave the presents a lot back in the day but honestly our hearts/minds are more important for birthdays than material things," while Jin shared that BTS had decided to stop giving each other birthday presents because it had become too difficult to think of what to buy.
However, that does not mean BTS members have stopped giving each other gifts altogether. From time to time, when they come across soмєтнing interesting, they are still happy to buy it for one another without waiting for a special occasion. The noteworthy gift Jimin received, as described below, is one such example. The funny part, though, is that this particular gift once scared him so much that he had to find an υиєχρє¢тє∂ way to deal with it!
Specifically, during a Weverse Live with fans, ARMYs couldn’t help noticing two Bearbrick figures of Jack Skellington placed behind Jimin. One was dressed in a black suit for Halloween, while the other wore a red Christmas outfit. The two figures had also been arranged to look as though they were kissing.
When a fan left a comment mentioning “the dolls,” Jimin immediately jumped in to explain: "Ohh, that’s not a doll! I received it as a gift from Hoseokie hyung when we started living separately”. He then added, “I used to be afraid of it back then, so I kept it outside and said hi~ every time I left the house. But one time, it ѕтαятℓє∂ me when I got home after work, so I brought it inside.”
The funniest part came when a fan asked why the two figures were kissing. Jimin honestly replied, “Cause that way they look less scarier laughs”, before letting out an adorable laugh.
Once the story came to light, fans couldn’t stop laughing — it was just too cute!
Some fans initially αѕѕumed that Jimin had bought the figures himself because Jack Skellington is one of his favorite animated characters. It turned out, however, that the Bearbrick pair was a gift from j-hope to his younger brother. However, this makes perfect sense! As j-hope is also well known for collecting character figures and Bearbrick models.
The funniest thing, though, is that j-hope probably never expected Jimin to be fяιgнтєиє∂ by the figures’ appearance. Fans can easily imagine him bursting into laughter if he found out that Jimin had made the two figures “kiss” just to make them look less scary. Fans reacted with hilarious comments such as:
