Jimin Reveals 2 Kpop Idols Of 2nd Gen Are His Ideal Models

Over the years, people have always talked about BTS as the ideal role models of new generation idols because of their outstanding talent and success. But many years ago, there were many idols who were also the ideal role models of BTS members so they could strive to become the Kpop superstars they are today.

In particular, for Jimin, there are two veteran idols among the 2nd generation idols of Kpop who are his biggest inspiration on stage. During a chat with SUGA, Jimin shared this and showed how much he learned from these two famous stars.

Here is what Jimin had to say about his two role models throughout his career:

It cannot be denied that BTS is currently the top Kpop group and the group's success makes them a striving example for many other artists. In BTS, the person who receives the most admiration from juniors in the same industry is probably Jimin because many people call him the "Rookie's Bible".

For newly debuted idols, Jimin is considered the ideal model of a Kpop idol. He possesses a shining visual, charming charisma, unique voice, top dancing ability and of course, a perfect personality. He has continuously worked hard and practiced for the past decade to achieve such an image.

Not only that, Jimin's secret to who he is today is also thanks to following his own idols and role models. Like many idols today, when he first debuted, Jimin also had his own ideal idol models. In particular, there are two second generation Kpop idols who have greatly influenced Jimin's career and even his style until now.

During a conversation between SUGA and Taemin on the recent Suchwita broadcast, Jimin frankly confessed his gender bias. One of his role models is SHINee's Taemin and the other is none other than the person who released a collaboration song with him, Big Bang's Taeyang.

Specifically, when the three discussed their perspectives on what they had shown or stories about the industry, SUGA suddenly mentioned that he remembered during a live broadcast, Taemin once shared that he had a sense of style. The dancing style and artist style are the same. Especially, after watching the "Hard" dance challenge video where Jimin and Taemin danced together, SUGA even more confirmed it.

Later, Jimin confessed that Jimin was influenced by Taemin a lot. Taemin even felt quite surprised because he knew that Jimin is a very influential person in the world and that he is also the inspiration for SHINee's youngest member. But when he learned that he was also Jimin's role model, he happily expressed: "When I hear that he learned it form me, it's like "You learned from me?"".

SUGA also added that Jimin used Taemin as a role model a long time ago. Once, backstage, while waiting for their turn to perform, BTS members would watch the artists perform and Jimin especially admired Taemin's iconic "Danger" stage. Since then, he has been diligently studying and practicing under his 2nd generation senior who is also his closest friend.

Besides, in addition to Taemin, Jimin also did not hesitate to point out that he has another role model besides Taemin, representing two different aspects of himself that he wants to share. He said that: "I told Taemin a long time ago he has a different sense of swag than BIGBANG‘s Taeyang, so I want them both."

Taemin’s appeal is his fluid movements and unique charisma while Taeyang’s cool flair is the definition of “swag". Jimin really felt admiration for these two performance styles and therefore he wanted to have the intersection of both outstanding styles of the two top 2nd generation idols. When watching Jimin's performance , you can clearly feel the combination of these two elements - a unique feeling!

Meanwhile, now not only Taemin but Taeyang is also a close friend of Jimin. He is actually a very successful fan!
