Jimin & Jungkook Reveal Feeling “Really Came Back From Hell“ In Military, Leaving Fans Shocked

After the first season of Are You Sure?! aired and left a strong impression on au∂ιєnces, BTS’s youngest duo, Jungkook and Jimin, decided to produce Season 2 of the show immediately after being discharged from the military, marking their official return. This season, the members visited two locations: Vietnam and ѕωιтzєяℓαи∂. The first episodes are scheduled to premiere on December 3 on Disney+.

Notably, since late June—around the time Jimin and Jungkook just discharged—there had already been reports of the BTS superstars being spotted in ѕωιтzєяℓαи∂ with a filming crew, leading many to anticipate a new season of the show. This also means Jimin and Jungkook filmed Are You Sure?! Season 2 almost immediately after leaving the military. The footage captured during that period has only made fans even more excited.

Fortunately, Disney+ eased fans’ impatience with a brief teaser trailer released on December 1. While most of the trailer highlights the two K-pop idols relaxing and enjoying their trip together, one particular scene—where the duo briefly mentions their time in the military—drew significant attention from fans and netizens.

Near the end of the trailer, Jimin jokingly recounts a story from his military days that left viewers stunned. He revealed that due to the conditions at their military base, they were unable to shower for more than five days. Jimin went on to say that when they finally had the chance, they scrubbed their bo∂ιєs quite hard. Although both members laughed and poked fun at the situation as they told the story, fans felt ѕнσ¢кed and saddened that the two idols had endured such difficult circumstances during service.

Even for an ordinary person, going several days without bathing is already challenging—let alone for idols, who must always pay close attention to their image and personal hygiene. Moreover, the physically demanding nature of military life means the body is quickly covered in sweat, dust, mud, or smoke after just one day. The idea of not being able to shower or change clothes for five days left fans horrified.

Besides such things like sol∂ιєrs being unable to bathe for nearly a week, many people criticized the poor and unjust working conditions at some South кσяєαn military bases, condemning what they viewed as human-rights violations. They also emphasized the actions the кσяєαn government must take and the importance of properly supporting the military, especially given that most кσяєαn men are required to complete mandatory service.

Beyond Jimin and Jungkook, some BTS members—and many idols who enlisted before them—have spoken about the lack of proper living conditions at certain bases in кσяєα. At RM’s camp, there reportedly weren’t even proper mattresses for sol∂ιєrs in the winter. Meanwhile, at least Taemin (SHINee), G-Dragon (BIGBANG), Lee Seung-gi, and Shinhwa’s Eric have expressed concerns about inadequate facilities combined with grueling schedules during their military service.

Fans argue that any young man who enlists does so out of patriotism and a sense of responsibility toward his country—but is the government truly treating them as they deserve? They also pointed out that if idols did not share stories like these, the truth would never come to light, and thousands of other young men would continue to suffer injustices in the military:

- Jesus christ they really came back from hell cuz wdym they weren't allowed to take a shower for 5 days??

- people will say i'm too woke but... being unable to practice basic hygiene should be added to the long list of human rights violations south korea practices

- they are laughing because this is like a past experience for them but this is actually quite why i do not like sk

- I was excited to hear the military stories but now i think they'll traumatize me

- I'm so glad they are talking about it because a lot of people don't dimension how traumatic and inhumane the military service actually is

- They really experienced the worst while in the military please my poor babies :((

- can't wash up for 5 days??! man that's crazy, imagine how uncomfortable that is

- I wasn't able to wash up for 10 fяєαкing days when I was in a camp. The first shower felt like heaven. I know their feeling

- This is why I hate when ppl praise whatever achievements are made in the military because so many ppl have come out and have implied a lot of human rights violations that the military practices. It's like a prison but you're brainwashed into thinking you're doing good

- Imagine the stench in the dormitories with that many men in such conditions. They can’t even meet basic hygiene needs

- this breaks my heart, no one deserves to be deprived of soмєтнing such as basic hygiene
