As all ARMYs have predicted, the guest for Suchwita this week is none other than BTS Jimin. He joined the show as a solo artist and promoted his new album FACE.
At the request of ARMYs, Jimin and SUGA sat down to drink wine and review their many meaningful memories from being trainees to becoming members who have been active together for more than a decade. This moved fans deeply and brought attention to many of the stories that were revealed for the first time.
One of them includes the fact that there was a time when Jimin didn't want to join the BTS trainee lineup but he quickly agreed to join when he heard this from SUGA. Below is the story told by Jimin and SUGA:
Since their debut, until now, BTS has always shined with seven members and for ARMYs, BTS 7 is the most important. Even the members have the number 7 friendship tattoos to celebrate over a decade of being together.
It can be seen that BTS would not be perfect and would also be a very different group without the current 7 members. But the process to find the current complete number 7 of BTS is not an easy thing.
Because since being a trainee of вιg нιт Music, there will be many different groups of trainees and not everyone is in the group of potential trainees to debut under the name BTS. It was also the time when SUGA, RM and j-hope went to find their last friends.
Today, that story is repeated again in Suchwita. On the latest episode of Suchwita at 22:00 (KST), Jimin and SUGA talked about some old memories from when they were trainees of вιg нιт Music. There is a story about how SUGA had to convince Jimin to join the BTS trainee project and debut with him like now.
Specifically, in the video, while talking about Jimin's training and practice when he was a trainee, he revealed that there was a time when he didn't want to join the trainee team. of BTS. Jimin wants to develop as a regular trainee and look for other debut opportunities.
However, it seems that BTS, with seven members in the current lineup, all depends on SUGA as Jimin insists afterwards that he has changed his mind, “But it is because of you…”
Jimin revealed an anecdote that made him change his mind. That's when the trainees finished their practice when it was late at night and the members were already in their beds.
However, people can't seem to fall asleep for the funny reason that RM is snoring. Jimin can joke about the situation but the important thing is that SUGA and Jimin are sleeping on the same bunk bed still awake.
Jimin revealed that, on that night, SUGA looked down and told him, “You’re a good singer, so I really want you to be on our team". It was that moment that sparked Jimin's ambition and he really joined the potential lineup of BTS.
SUGA then explained that because he's been writing music since he was a kid, he knows the potential in Jimin's voice. He knows how great it would be to appear in songs. In particular, it is som̾e̾t̾h ̾ing very different from the rest of the members. He mentioned: "I knew what your tone and your voice would sound like when you sang. No one else on the team had that tone. I felt that you could become a singer with a unique voice if you found your own tone and color. I already knew so that's why I said that."
And Jimin later proved that SUGA's decision to invite him to the group was correct. Jimin is the great piece that BTS was m̾i̾s̾s̾i̾n̾g and SUGA put it together perfectly.
Although it was a very touching story, when he returned to reality when he saw Jimin sitting in front of him as a member of the group and a solo artist, SUGA expressed his recent anxiety. SUGA explained that Jimin has been taking rapping lessons recently, so every time he comes to the company, he gets confused because of this.
What he is afraid of is not because his position as a rapper is shaky but because he has a strong pαssion for Jimin's voice. It was SUGA who firmly believed that Jimin was born to sing so he was afraid that Jimin wouldn't show his voice to the fullest.
SUGA humorously expressed: "You were taking rap lessons then I was like, "Why are you making him rap?" I wasn't worried about losing my spot. I said, "He should be singing". Why are you making him rap when he can't even rap?" I told them (agency) you should be singing".
Although Jimin is sure to shine in any role from dancing, singing to rapping, SUGA still loves to see Jimin show off his amazing vocals. It's fortunate that thanks to SUGA, BTS has one of the most recognized and loved voices in K-Pop in their lineup, making for a BTS 7 - K-pop superstars!
