As part of promoting the new album, Jimin dropped by the popular YouTube channel PIXID this week to do a broadcast. Just like other celebrities, Jimin got to experience the reality of interacting with his fans through a challenge.
But it was also thanks to this challenge that Jimin was touched by the fans' love for the idol. He was even moved to tears when he read their sweet and meaningful messages.
Here's what Jimin witnessed through his impersonation conversation with other fans and what brought him to tears:
On March 26, after an expected day since the teaser of the next episode was released, Jimin finally appeared on the PIXID YouTube channel. In this episode, Jimin appeared pretending to be a fan along with other fans to share his feelings with the idol.
The special thing is that Jimin has built himself a perfect fan status when he said that he has been a fan of Jin since he was 16 and now because he is in the army, now TXT Beomgyu is his bias. Meanwhile, the other female fans are real provincial fans - fans who live outside of Seoul.
Jimin completely concealed his identity and made the conversation funny. However, things quickly turned tearful as the women shared what it really means to be fangirls to them.
Although provincial K-Pop fans in South kσrєα get a lot more opportunities than international fans do, you may be surprised to learn how much more difficult things are for those who don’t live in the capital city. Throughout the show, fans lamented how expensive travel and accommodation in, how hard it can be to secure a train ticket or a place to stay during concert weekends, and how long it takes to receive albums.
Of course, all these troubles are secondary to the “stan” experience. In particular, at the end of the conversation, when a profound question was asked: "What does being a provincial fangirl really mean?", the fans began to sincerely express their hearts.
One fan, nicknamed "Overseas Trip" in reference to the vacation she may have taken with the money she spent on fangirling, put it simply: “It’s just happiness. They protect my burnout.”
“Just liking them,” answered a Stray Kids fan who chose the nickname “Provincial Void.” She added, “And strangely, it doesn’t feel wasteful to spend money on fangirling.”
Just when Jimin was trying to come up with another answer to blend in with the group, he stopped in his tracks as a fan nicknamed “Last Train Cinderella” revealed just how deep her feelings go.
Last Train Cinderella texted: "Sigh, I get really teary talking about this, but I go through hard times thanks to them. I want to return the love because they gave me so much".
The others agreed, with “Overseas Trip” noting that “you fangirl during the toughest time because that’s when they come and comfort you.” One fan described her idols as coming to her “like a gift,” while “Last Train Cinderella” explained how much she wanted to repay the favor.
Last Train Cinderella continued: "Now I want to be their source of strength when they’re going through hard times."
With those words, Jimin couldn’t hold back his own emotions any longer. As the fangirls all agreed, “Let’s do K-Pop for life,” Jimin could be seen wiping tears from his eyes.
Not only that, the program also has a talk in front of the camera when fangirls can continue to share their thoughts that any international fan can agree with. One fan named as 50k Expenses said: “Even when things are hard, you feel happy seeing them. They’re like the driving force of my life."
The Stray Kids fan explained that she gets "so much comfort" from their lyrics, that the money she spent on them doesn't feel like a waste at all. “Overseas Trip” stated that even though it can take upwards of six hours to get to a concert, the moments everyone sings together “stay with you as your happiest moments.”
Meanwhile, The Last Train Cinderella shared: "You feel a sense of joy in a moment’s notice just living life. That’s when you realize you’re alive."
After witnessing these reactions from fans, Jimin was almost speechless. “I didn’t want to joke around in that moment,” he explained, adding, “I think I was immersed in what they were saying.”
Jimin went on to say that hearing how fans truly feel made him even more dedicated to giving that love back to them. He said that: "Thinking that people like them had my back, I felt like I wanted to repay their love even more."
Truly this experience for Jimin has made him more motivated and feel so much love from his amazing fans!
