On October 18, j-hope’s older sister, Jiwoo, released a vlog documenting her daily life in the days surrounding Chuseok, one of South кσяєα’s two biggest traditional holidays. Jiwoo explained that her family usually performs ancestral rites on this occasion, so she returned to her parents’ home to help with the preparations and celebrate Chuseok with her family.
While the Jung family gathered together for the holiday, j-hope was unable to join them due to his busy schedule in נαραи. In early August, all BTS members returned to South кσяєα after completing the European leg of their world tour. However, j-hope had his own commitments, including the launch of the second season of his collaboration collection with HUMAN MADE, meaning he could not fully take a break even during the holiday.

Although he could not be with his family in person, j-hope called home on the holiday itself. One particular request he made during the video call with Jiwoo delighted fans and sparked discussions after the vlog was released.
During the video call with his family, the idol’s father mentioned that his older sister was helping their mother prepare the traditional holiday dish jeon. Hearing that his mother was making the dish, j-hope eagerly asked, “Oh, really? Mom’s making jeon?” After his father confirmed it, he suddenly brought up his pet cats: “You have to feed the cats, so…”
Before he could even finish his sentence, Jiwoo responded with a humorous complaint. She teased her younger brother for being so rude as to call on a holiday just to ask about that: “You’re so rude! Calling on a holiday! Did you seriously call just to ask whether I’ve fed the cats or not?!”
In response to his sister’s playful scolding, j-hope quickly wished everyone a happy holiday: “Have a happy Chuseok!” His father then told him to finish his work and come home, and j-hope replied that he would head straight home as soon as he returned.
The casual exchange quickly caught fans’ attention for its warmth and humor, offering a glimpse into the Jung family’s close-knit dynamic. What particularly delighted fans, though, was that j-hope still remembered his cats despite being busy with his own schedule. It seems his family has been taking care of the two pets while he is away from home.
Last December, j-hope revealed during a livestream that he was raising two cats. According to the idol, both were abandoned cats whom he decided to bring home out of compαѕѕion. The revelation received an overwhelmingly positive response from ARMY, who expressed admiration for his kindness toward animals.
Even so, j-hope once explained that he wanted fans to discover his cats naturally rather than introducing them himself. "Actually I wanted to show you naturally. I thought it wasn't right to say, "Here are my cats!”, he shared. Since then, his individual activities and world tour have meant that fans have yet to get an official glimpse of the two little cats.
However, in another vlog by Jiwoo, fans previously spotted a painting of a British Shorthair cat beside a portrait of Mickey, both painted by their mother. Given her habit of painting portraits of family members and their pets, many fans speculated that the cat in the painting could be one of j-hope’s two mysterious companions.

From the painting to the Chuseok video call, fans can easily sense just how loved and well cared for the two cats are within the Jung family. Many could not help expressing their affection and saying how much they hoped to meet j-hope’s two little fur babies soon!
