Marriage seems to be a topic of interest to everyone and all ages, even Kpop superstars like BTS. Over the years, fans have always been interested when the group members talk about this topic.
Recently, j-hope revealed his views on marriage in a conversation with his sister on 'I Live Alone'. His sharing surprised fans, but when they heard the reason, they all sympathized with him.
Below are j-hope's shares that caught fans' attention:
On MBC's 'I Live Alone' broadcast on the 7th, j-hope's daily life in Los Angeles, USA was portrayed for the second time. Previously, he revealed his luxurious apartment during his 1-month vacation in the US to make music. Fans were overwhelmed by the value of the apartment as well as the way he decorated his house.
Meanwhile, in part 2 of the show, a special guest attended with j-hope. It was his sister, who is 4 years older than him - Jiwoo, who is currently running a fashion brand, an eyewear brand, a cosmetics brand and a big influencer on social media. Both showed off their pretty visuals, their identical appearance and the closeness in their relationship.
It is known that j-hope's sister is on a business trip to the US and the two made an appointment to have a meal together. This also seems to be the first time the famous Jung sisters have appeared on a TV show together. Not only that, because both of their jobs are very busy, this is also their rare intimate meal since j-hope was discharged from the army. The two shared interesting things during this process.
In particular, j-hope's sister encouraged him to call his parents often, but j-hope also expressed his dilemma, saying, "I really want to, but I feel shy because I'm a son." On the other hand, he also brought up a possibility: "I guess I'll do it after I get married." Here, he thought that he would be more confident in contacting his parents when he became a real man in the family.
When j-hope mentioned this, his sister also raised her concern: "Do you plan to get married?". j-hope's answer then surprised everyone when he said, "I probably won't get married." j-hope shared, "I love my job very much. The sense of accomplishment I get from my job is what motivates and encourages me in life. (I live) comfortably while working."
Not stopping there, when a host of the show asked him if he was against marriage, he affirmed that he doesn't refuse marriage. "It's not about no marriage but I love my job so much, the driving force in my life is my job", he added.
j-hope's sharing immediately reminded fans of what RM had also mentioned in the program 'The Dictionary of Useless Human Knowledge'. RM shared: "I think those born in the 90s and later are especially skeptical about marriage. I really feel scared and uncertain about marriage. Marriage is a promise to be with someone for a hundred years... I often wonder: "Can soмєтнing like that ever happen in my life?”".
He also continued: “In the past, I thought of marriage as a natural process in life, but just a few years ago I thought to myself ‘It’s possible that I may end up not getting married.’ Once I started thinking like that, I can’t move on from that thought.”
Now that j-hope has spoken out about it again, fans are really getting a sense of his and BTS members' views on marriage. ARMYs were moved to comment:
- If he wants to get married i hope he knows armys will still be there to support him. What matters most is their happiness
- It'll take a very special person to win the members' trust & also be OK sharing them with the world and their art. Not a lot of people would be able to do that, no matter how much they love the members (and no judgement about that. It's a big ask.) I'm happy if they're happy!
- It takes the right person to share him with his art. I understand why he feels the conflict knowing its not fair to have a spouse you may not have enough time for. I hope that person is out there for him.
- Their lives are so complicated compared to a 9-to-5-er. And as they get older, they will hone in on what their needs are from a significant other. Trust, honesty and understanding are harder to find for a celebrity unless the two are in the same business. They will find the way
- I hope he will be ready to take that life decision when he meets the right person.
- He's gonna get married I know bs when I see it!!!!!!! Just gotta fall a bit in love and man's gone
- He just lives for work? I guess. Doesn't matter, hobi marry whenever you want to :)
