ILLIT’s Iroha Reveals a BTS Member Is Her Role Model, But Couldn’t Tell Him When They Met at the Company

ILLIT, the girl group under BELIFT LAB, which is part of the same HYBE system as BTS’s BIGHIT MUSIC, has consistently attracted media attention since its debut. Their debut song “Magnetic” achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the first debut song by a K-pop group to enter the Billboard Hot 100. On top of that, both their first mini album, SUPER REAL ME, and their second mini album, I’LL LIKE YOU, made it onto the US Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, Iroha, a member of the group, is one of the Gen 5 female idols who have gained considerable popularity among the public. Despite being ILLIT’s youngest member, she quickly established herself through her exceptional dancing sкιℓℓs and stage presence beyond her years. In particular, the contrast between her adorable maknae charm offstage and her powerful, confident presence onstage has become a unique part of her “magnetic” appeal.

Notably, between Iroha and a BTS member, there is also an adorable anecdote that recently went viral again following a clip from a game show she appeared on with her group.

In the video, the ILLIT members participate in a fast-paced celebrity guessing game in which they have to identify celebrities from photos, нιт a buzzer, and call out their names to earn points. Although the game is nearing its end, Iroha has only scored one point when j-hope’s photo suddenly appears. Her fellow members give her the chance to answer, and she immediately lights up with excitement, enthusiastically and confidently calling out, “j-hope sunbaenim!”

After watching the clip, some netizens pointed out that the moment was even more special because Iroha had previously revealed that j-hope was her role model. In an interview not long ago, the young idol described her admiration for him: "Ever since I become interested in K-Pop, I've watched a lot of his performances and videos. He's so good and cool on stages, but off stage, he's really bright and gives bright energy to others. And in the concert preparation videos, he's really serious. Those kinds of things are so cool".

It is hardly surprising that Iroha named j-hope as her role model, considering her background in dance. She pursued hip-hop dance from a young age and overcame various challenges on her journey to debut. In the same interview, she expressed her pαѕѕion for the genre: "Ever since I was young, I learned hip-hop dance and listened to a lot of hip-hop music, which I really loved."

As an artist renowned for his exceptional dancing sкιℓℓs, hip-hop background, and outstanding stage presence, j-hope has clearly become a major source of inspiration for her on this journey!

The most interesting part, however, is that despite her deep admiration for j-hope, the young idol was too nervous to express her feelings when she had the opportunity to meet him in person at their company.

Iroha recalled: "After j-hope was discharged, I heard he was in the makeup room room the 4th floor, so I went to say hello. I was touched when he told me that he listened to our album even when he was in the military. I couldn't tell him that j-hope is my role model. I couldn't say anything laughs".

Fortunately, Iroha still had the opportunity to work alongside her idol in a dance challenge when j-hope was promoting his song “Killin’ It Girl.” At the time, he performed the dance challenge with Iroha and Moka and shared the video on TikTok, receiving tremendous support from fans.

As Iroha’s story about looking up to j-hope went viral again, many fans couldn't help but laugh and relate to the young idol's adorable reaction. The story also prompted admiration for j-hope's influence as an artist who inspires the next generation of idols not only through his talent but also through his dedication to his work and the positive energy he shares with others.

Some of the notable comments include: "She is so cute. Bangllit healings", "This is why she's my fave, taste, pretty, cute and cool", "Hoseok is the idol of idols. The way so many ppl from 3rd, 4th and even 5th gen are looking up at him is incredible", "Pretty girls like Hobi", "She has right role model. #jhope is the idol everyone respect for his talent, pαѕѕion, dedication, hardwork n vision", "No wonder she has that cool vibe when dancing.i hope she can collaborate with hobi 1 day", "She's such a sweetheart omg",...
