On July 29, the online charity auction titled One Goal: Auction for FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, organized by Christie's in the United States, officially concluded as scheduled. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports access to education and sports opportunities for children in underserved communities around the world.
According to The New York Times, seven clothing items and accessories previously worn by BTS members were successfully auctioned for a combined total of $300,300 (approximately KRW 434.32 million), accounting for 46% of the auction's total revenue. The standout item was Jimin's shirt, which sold for $110,000 (approximately KRW 159 million), making it the highest-priced celebrity item in the event—nearly double the $66,000 paid for an Argentina national team jersey signed by Lionel Messi and gifted to Shakira.
The winning bidder for Jimin's shirt quickly became the center of attention among fans because of the staggering amount she spent. On July 30, the buyer revealed her identity herself, surprising many by confirming that she is an ARMY from Vietnam. Even more remarkably, she was not only the winning bidder for Jimin's $110,000 shirt but also successfully purchased RM's boots for $19,800.
In total, she spent more than $130,000 to acquire the two BTS items. Explaining her decision, the Vietnamese ARMY shared that her participation in the auction was motivated not only by her love for BTS but also by her desire to contribute to Global Citizen's fιgнт against global poverty through this charitable event.
According to available information, this "wealthy ARMY" is in her 40s and is the CEO and founder of a well-known language center in Ho Chi Minh City, which has served more than 2,000 students. This is also not the first time she has participated in charity auctions involving BTS memorabilia.
The Vietnamese fan had previously won Jimin's pink suit, which he wore during Billboard's 2021 photoshoot, at another charity auction. In a post shared this past April, she also impressed the ARMY community by revealing part of her extensive BTS collection, including several fine art prints from BTS x James Jean: Seven Phases, the collaborative art project between BTS and Taiwanese αмєяι¢αn artist James Jean.
Beyond impressing fans with her financial means, the female CEO has also earned widespread admiration for her positive outlook on being a fan. She once proudly wrote: "Becoming a fan of these 7 is a beautiful journey of becoming the best version of myself in various aspects. Don't blame us for idolizing them (for not succeeding in aspects in life), it is better to reflect that we should work harder. I'm 40, and ARMY, so what?"
After her identity was revealed, international fans flooded social media with praise for the Vietnamese ARMY. One fan commented: "She seems like the low-key, powerful type. She’s super cool about it—no big fuss at all, like she was just doing some casual online shopping. Seeing the photos she posted from the concert, she looks so humble.
