The answer is said to come from the age gap between Jin and Jungkook. While Jin starts enlisting this year, Jungkook can postpone his enlistment until 2028.
Specifically, a few hours ago, HYBE announced good revenue results in the third quarter with the media and shareholders of the company. Despite facing many adverse situations, HYBE's Q3 revenue is still the highest figure this year despite being 8% lower than the same quarter last year.
However, Korean media said that profit margins are expected to decline with BTS' enlistment from next year. To fill the void of BTS, HYBE is expected to boost profits thanks to other groups' activities from next year. HYBE CEO also said that he is also looking for active investment opportunities such as M&A (M&A) to explore new growth engines.
Even so, BTS shares 60~65% and the rest of artists are about 35~40% in total HYBE's revenue. It shows a pretty big gap that HYBE will suffer in the coming years. But the fact that BTS members are doing solo activities is also expected to fill the gap close to the group's activities, so the decrease is also minimized.
Regarding BTS's enlistment plan officially announced last month, questions related to the enlistment plan continued in the Q&A session with the press. When asked, "Member Jungkook, born in 1997, can postpone his military enlistment until 2028 & is there any possibility of continuing his solo activities/ career?". The CEO of HYBE responded, "We're discussing with artists, and BTS are going to enlist in the military sequentially. We hope they will start to act again as a whole group in 2025."
