For public artists, it is inevitable that their private lives will be invaded by aggressive fans. Especially in the case of top famous idols like BTS, it is even more obvious.
BTS members, especially Jungkook, are chased everywhere from the airport, practice room to home and this really greatly affects their spirit and life. But fortunately, with ARMY and HYBE's efforts to protect Jungkook, recently, these incidents have progressed in a positive direction.
Specifically, recently, HYBE issued an announcement about officially filing a lawsuit against the individuals who haräṩṩed and ιиѕυℓтed Jungkook as well as the members and their families. Below is HYBE's announcement on this issue:
It is not unusual for toxic individuals, impolite fans or sasaengs to bother BTS members in public places or during official schedules. However, these things have recently become a particularly serious problem when these people appear in members' living areas, even directly threatening their homes.
One of the members most affected by this problem is Jungkook, whose private life was disturbed for a long time. It started with Jungkook being chased to the practice room by some ARMYs or more specifically sasaeng fans and waiting for him outside for hours.
After that, this sasaeng fan even followed Jungkook to his house and rang the bell even though it only happened once. What followed was a series of days where Jungkook received letters and food delivered to his door every day to the point where he had to directly ask the overzealous fans to stop before he took further measures. ℓєgαℓ law. But it seems that the artist's personal life was affected too much, so HYBE had no choice but to ask the court to get involved.
Most recently, HYBE gave an update on the progress of ℓєgαℓ proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS, including defamation on the Internet and personal attacks at home. In the announcement, HYBE said: "During this quarter, we filed multiple criminal complaints with law enforcement agencies based on evidence related to acts infringing on the rights of the artists, including defamation, submitted by our fans as well as collected through our own monitoring.
In particular, we gathered ongoing evidence regarding individuals who repeatedly sent mails and packages to the artists’ residences, even causing harm to the artists’ families, and filed criminal complaints against them on charges of violating laws regarding stalking crimes (Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking). The court has issued an interim restraining order, and a prosecutor's investigation is underway. We remain committed to an upcompromising, zero-tolerance policy in addressing stalking crimes that infringe on the privacy and safety of our artists....
...Furthermore, among the defendants in this round of ℓєgαℓ actions, there was an individual who repeatedly posted violent and offensive abusive comments on portal site news sections. This individual regularly engaged in dozens of cases of high-intensity malicious commenting across various articles. We have compiled all verified comments and filed criminal complaints against the individual."
This proves that HYBE has stepped in and found the identity of the individuals who caused trouble to Jungkook. Not only that, these people also violate the privacy of other members and their families. That is truly unacceptable behavior and HYBE is commended for taking strong measures against those who harm BTS and their families.
For HYBE's announcement, fans felt somewhat satisfied that toxic individuals had received appropriate consequences for their disrespectful actions toward artists. Meanwhile, fans encourage each other to continue protecting BTS by reporting to HYBE any cases they suspec:
