This morning, September 22, HYBE made a (very long) announcement regarding BTS's concert in Busan. This happened after the controversy surrounding "HYBE asked for sponsorship from other companies" to hold this concert.

However, this problem happened not by HYBE or BTS, but because of a reason that made many people feel angry. The issue of holding a free concert in Busan has been controversial for many months about the government taking advantage of HYBE and BTS.

HYBE has officially announced their stance on holding a free concert in Busan next October. HYBE makes this announcement to explain all the requirements related to the issue of concerts.

Specifically, before that, HYBE was criticized for calling for sponsorship from large corporations to fund concerts. However, in fact, HYBE did not know this and the Korean Government sent a request to sponsor the top 10 Korean companies under the name of HYBE. Not only that, the Korean government also said that it was HYBE and BTS that put financial pressure on them.

Responding to this, HYBE explained the entire funding issue skillfully. The announcement also clearly shows that BTS will hold a free concert for ARMY by themselves because it is part of their wish. Besides, the wording that HYBE gave is also said to satisfy both the Government - who seems to have taken advantage of them in this work as well as satisfy netizens and businesses.

HYBE has already mentioned that portion of the concert will be reimbursed with sponsorship, online streaming ads, the city projects. Rest will be taken care of HYBE. BTS is not being paid for performing which they always hoped to hold a concert with many fans for free before.

If they had considered cost as the most important factor in participating in the national events in the past, it would have been difficult to produce positive results at major events for our country. However there is one thing HYBE and BTS cannot give up, which is the quality of the stage BTS will be performing on. The world’s best artist cannot agree to lower the quality even if it is a national event. This Busan concert is not an exception either.

Hybe will focus on confirming high quality stage and best results. Which will lead to creating the value that we expect in attracting the 2030 Busan World Expo is the only goal that Hybe and BTS aim for. HYBE and BTS are proud to contribute to the country.

There is only less than 4 weeks left for the Busan concert. HYBE and BTS will focus on making an effort to contribute even a little to attracting ppl to the expo. There may be small or big obstacles during the process but they will continue to try their best.
