A few days ago, RM expressed his disappointment when one of his trips to the Hwaeomsa temple was leaked to the newspapers. After that, the temple and its leadership faced a lot of criticism from the public for reporting about RM's visit to the temple in the press.

In response to the angry response of netizens, recently, the leader of Hwaeomsa Temple spoke out about this issue. Through an exchange with the press, the temple's abbot said that they had nothing to do with RM's disclosure of information and causing the news to appear in the newspaper.

After receiving this response, ARMYs could not help but doubt the authenticity of the answer:

At the end of 2022, RM had a trip to Hwaeomsa Temple 2 days 1 night with a producer. He came here to relax and find musical inspiration after 1 year of working and facing many challenges.

Later, he also shared a few photos of him staying at the temple to rest, however, immediately journalists started to come to the temple after RM left and made investigations about the temple. The monk who had conversation with RM shared many stories related to his visit.

The temple's chief monk, Venerable Deokmun, revealed part of his conversation with RM to the media. It included sharing that the star had been donating to a children's fund led by monk Deokmun for many years. There are also articles that also quote the monk about his conversation with RM about BTS's enlistment issue.

Meanwhile, when reading the articles, many fans think that the monk's mention of BTS' military excemption at this time is like a trap. If RM doesn't answer well, it will be controversial. But fortunately, as usual, RM's response was 100 points, he said that only by enlisting can he speak about his rights.

Not only that, after a lot of articles reported about the conversation between RM and the abbot, RM learned that his privacy was violated. RM then expressed his disappointment over those articles on his Instagram. RM wrote that: "I was grateful for the time spent there, but didn’t expect an article about it…"

He even said then that next time he would go to some other temple to visit quietly. He also deleted his posts including pictures from his stay at Hwaeomsa Temple.

RM's polite but firm stance against the violation of his privacy has led fans to call out to the media and monk Deokmun to be held accountable for crossing the line. While most were mindful not to misdirect their anger towards the temple or the religion itself, Hwaeomsa Temple's reaction afterward further angered fans.

As reported by YTN Star, the temple denied any information about how the chat was leaked to the media. They said that: "We don’t know how RM’s visit was reported."

This statement angered fans even more. Many see it as an unreasonable excuse to be given instead of an apology. Some fans also felt it was an attempt to blame RM without directly mentioning it as such a live chat could have been leaked by either party.

What they're doing is like a disclaimer on their part and it's diverting public opinion leaving the other - here RM responsible:

- They didn't know how it was reported the articles? Um, cause they gave a detailed interview?

- Monk goes to media (again) and tells media that they didn’t know that doing an interview with a reporter would result in the interview being reported

- That’s not what it says verbatim but this is basically a (sarcastic) summary

- The thing is he shouldn't be repeating those conversations to ANYBODY reporter or not.

- That’s the point…I was just showing the irony of the monk’s lie…like clearly the monk knew what they were doing and what was gonna happen

- Umm... isn't that what reporters do? Report things? Publish articles?

- ....so he didn't know that reporters... report? like what was he expecting? the reporter to write the interview in his diary?

- This person wanna get dragged ever more…like what kind of fckery is this…why would u go to a reporter in first place?? This man needs to learn the fckin lesson

- How do they not know his visit was reported when there were paps there taking photos? Don’t play with me cause now it seem like they’re trying to make him look bad.

- His conversation with the chief monk which included a very direct question about enlistment was put on blast but y’all suddenly don’t know how it was reported?

- Instead of apologizing they’re playing dumb and that’s just not gonna fly tbh
