Only about 55 days remains until SUGA get discharged from the military, but fans can't wait any second to hear news about him.
Not like other BTS members, SUGA has hardly posted any photos or statuses on SNS during the 21 months he has been serving in the alternative military service. The last time fans were able to see him in public was in August last year after his DUI case.
Since then, fans have noticed that SUGA has been even more secretive than ever. He only silently visits fans by logging into BTS's official fancafe and then leaves without anyone knowing. That makes fans feel even more heartbroken!
A few hours ago, fans were surprised when a video went viral on social media and quickly went viral, including images of SUGA walking on the street. He was spotted with a military haircut and casual clothes.
The video was originally posted on Instagram and then reposted by many Tiktok accounts, attracting millions of views across platforms. Fans were overwhelmed with emotion when they were able to see SUGA these days.
However, some ARMYs began to question the authenticity of the video. Some ARMYs pointed out that it is difficult for SUGA or BTS members to walk on the street without wearing hats or masks because they are conscious of how much attention they attract.
On the other hand, appearing so openly and naturally does not fit SUGA's usual style. He is a private person, especially after the scandal last year, he became even more cautious.
Therefore, some fans even checked the video on the AI website and quickly concluded that the video was fake. In fact, it was just a video edited through AI software and the person in the video was not the BTS rapper.
ARMYs are extremely angry at the spread of fake news related to SUGA by some profiteering elements. Even when fans asked them to take down those videos and point out the fake behavior, the account owners did not care because the number of interactions on those posts was too large.
ARMYs are now calling on other fans to report the accounts and stop spreading this video:
- I'm not a professional but it looks fake. Report to HYBE rn
- I don't know why so many fans makes edits of Yoongi and spreads them to fool others. Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok and FB are full of them. He was never spotted in a sol∂ιєr uniform, in front of Hybe, with friends etc.
- its definitely the work of AI and yoongi always wear masks when hes out and about anyway aint no way hes flaunting that gorgeous face for free in public
- can we just report that? idgaf if it's real or not, it looks fake to me. the camera is so close to him that it's impossible he didn't notice it. amd bfr he always wore a cap and mask. respect his privacy
- insta army wont delete as they got their views n dont believe is a fake
- Complain it to hybe. report account > posting inappropriate content > misinformation
- I need to report this video to HYBE. Deepfake is really scary stuff.
In early April of this year, HYBE, together with the Gyeonggi North Provincial Police Agency, dismantled a network related to the production and distribution of deepfake videos targeting BTS and some other artists of the company.
HYBE also issued a statement of zero tolerance for any acts that infringe on the portrait rights and reputation of artists. Since September 2024, HYBE has established the "Artist Rights Infringement Reporting Center" - a direct communication channel with fans to receive abnormal signs, defamatory content, defamation, or unauthorized editing of artists' images.
Therefore, fans should be highly vigilant with images and videos of BTS spreading on social networks to behave appropriately and not help those who profit!
