Today is the last day of 2023 and fans around the world are eagerly waiting for the new year. The end of this year and next year is a special time for ARMYs because this is the first year that BTS does not celebrate the new year with their fans.
But even with m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ restrictions, at least a few members still tried to comfort fans. In particular, j-hope is the first member of BTS to send New Year greetings to ARMYs. However, an incident occurred when his post was banned by Weverse and j-hope had to find another way to show his heart to ARMYs.
Despite some difficulties, fans still felt happy about j-hope's letter and laughed at his ironic situation:
On this day, fans miss BTS members more than ever because they cannot celebrate the New Year with the members because the group is in the army. Finally, j-hope also showed his love for ARMYs that transcends camp borders. On behalf of the members of BTS, j-hope posted a long letter with sweet messages for his fans. In the letter, he shared his feelings while going through the group's hiatus as well as sent words of encouragement to fans who are experiencing similar feelings as him.
j-hope wrote in his long letter: "ARMY!! You're doing well, right?? There's not much left of 2023 either. Still, since it was a year that was special and I was grateful for in various ways, I came to give you guys a greeting in a simple way.
It seems like this year I moved and did various activities by keeping enlistment in clear focus. I even went to award show(s) alone as I wanted to show you the parts I couldn't show since then~ Even participated in big shows in Paris~ Even did a song collaboration with a person I respect a lot as present for you guys before I enlist to repay you all~ Even prepared a few little contents for you guys so you can feel my warmth while I'm doing my service~
I lived/did activities busily and fiercely like this and then enlisted. Like that, it has already been 9 months while running as a sold̾i̾e ̾r. Already!!? I'm preparing to see the sun of the (day of my) discharge.(Of course... it ends in October though...)
What I end up feeling though, is nothing but except the thought that I want to show you my cool side again, and as much as that, I miss you all so much! While also мιѕѕιиg our members too, also worrying (for them), while also feeling a sense of relatability on the other hand... it also gives me strength...! I can say since I experienced it first but..! I believe you/they would feel the same for sure!!... hehe. Before going to sleep, I'm thinking a lot and encountering various dreams. Things that felt very natural and trivial become the ideal, and for a bit they dissipate fatigue and let loose of a stiff breath. The place I sleep would be the same as the sun goes down would be the same right? hehe. The day I end my m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ duty sincerely, makes the beginning of Year 24 even stronger!!!
Anyway, Year 23 too I definitely endured and moved due to you guys. It's a little sudden/υиєχρє¢тє∂ but I still want to express it...Receive a lot of blessings for Year 24 (happy new year)!!!!!...And our reality and ideal, our ARMY, our members. But one thing fans noticed is that this time j-hope wrote a letter by taking a phone screenshot of a post from Weverse. Fans wondered why he didn't post them directly instead of doing so. j-hope's answer then made fans laugh but also touched because he tried to resolve the situation.
It turns out that j-hope's post was banned by Weverse multiple times due to being found to use banned words. Even though I tried to check my letter and edit it many times, it still couldn't be posted normally. For that reason, j-hope decided to screenshot and post the letter as a photo for ARMYs. Then he realized it was the 고자 (eunuch) from 되어드리고자 so he reposted again and told us to keep secret at the end. 고자 is just a connective ending grammar form but Weverse got a little overzealous in censoring even though j-hope wrote it correctly and didn't use the word by itself.
Faced with j-hope's letter and feelings for his fans, they couldn't hold back their tears:
