She is considered a legend in the Philippine entertainment industry, having performed in more than a dozen musicals throughout her 42-year career and winning a Tony Award. In 2011, Disney even honored her as a Disney Legend for her globally renowned voice in clαѕѕic films such as Aladdin (1992) and Mulan (1998 & 2004). Salonga is also recognized as having perfect pitch — the ability to identify and reproduce a musical note accurately without needing a reference sound.
With such an impressive background, there is no question about Lea Salonga’s expertise when it comes to her αѕѕessment of BTS’s vocals. Interestingly, in a recent interview, when asked, “As someone with perfect pitch who has spent decades maintaining pristine vocal placement, when you were listening to BTS's live vocals, who stood out to you?”, she openly named two members based on her own opinion!
The first member Lea Salonga mentioned was Jungkook. Rather than simply praising the BTS maknae’s voice, she even called him “the GOAT” and was particularly impressed by his pitch control.
Lea Salonga recalled once commenting to a music director that Jungkook’s pitch was “ridiculously unreal.” The music director, who had worked with Jungkook since the early days of his career, told her that he had always been that way since his debut and had remained remarkably consistent. Lea even compared Jungkook to someone who had “swallowed a stack of CDs” — a vivid way of describing his astonishingly accurate pitch.

Lea explained that V does not stand out simply because he is the only baritone in the vocal line, as Jungkook can also sing in the lower range.
