Despite RM’s Plea, a Crowd of Over 10,000 People Still Causes Chaos Outside BTS’ Hotel

RM has called on fans to stop gathering outside the group's hotel during their ongoing world tour. The BTS leader made the plea on Thursday via the fan community platform Weverse while the group was staying in Lima, Peru.

"Members and staff are having a really hard time because of people staying outside our hotel all day," RM wrote. "It's so noisy that we can hear it inside our rooms, and everyone is having trouble sleeping."

Even Lima Mayor Renzo Reggiardo expressed concern that the artists were unable to get enough rest due to the large crowds gathering outside their hotel. Following RM's statement, he formally requested that the Peruvian National Police step up security around the hotel where BTS were staying.

Nevertheless, it seems that neither RM's heartfelt plea nor the local authorities' tightened security measures have been enough to disperse the crowds. The very next day, long lines of people continued to surround the group's hotel, creating chaos in the area.

Videos showing thousands of people gathering around the hotel where BTS were staying during their performances in Lima have been circulating on social media for hours. The crowds were not only packed tightly together and moving chaotically but also constantly screaming, creating deafening noise along the street in front of the hotel. More concerningly, some people even shone laser beams into rooms they believed were occupied by BTS members, raising further concerns about the group's privacy and safety.

Part of the reason so many people gathered in the area was reportedly a spectacular drone show organized by the Peruvian fan community to welcome BTS to Lima on October 8 (local time). The event had been meticulously planned months in advance, and fans could not have anticipated that BTS would end up staying at a hotel right next to the show venue. Moreover, such a large-scale welcome event could not simply be canceled at the last minute.

The hotel is also located in an area famous for its ocean views, which already attracts large numbers of tourists. On top of that, the event coincided with a public holiday in Peru, making the streets even more crowded.

It is understandable that locals and fans flocked to the waterfront to enjoy the drone show, as doing so in a public space was entirely legal. The real problem, however, is that even before the show—and even after it had ended—the crowds refused to disperse. Instead, they continued lingering, shouting, and even directing laser beams straight into BTS's hotel rooms. These actions leave little doubt that their target was BTS themselves, rather than simply the drone show.

Meanwhile, many fans have also urged the community to remain level-headed and avoid unfairly blaming local fans, who had invested considerable time, effort, and money into organizing the drone show project to welcome BTS. Clearly, the fan-project organizers could not have anticipated that BTS would be staying at that particular location, nor did they intend to cause trouble for the group. The only people who deserve to be condemned and held accountable are those who exploited this public event as an opportunity to gather, cause disturbances, and harαѕѕ the group at their place of rest.

The blatant disregard for RM's heartfelt plea and the Lima authorities' requests has sparked a strong wave of outrage among ARMY worldwide:

- This is honestly so upsetting and disappointing. Why are still so many people gathering outside BTS’s hotel and disturbing not only the members but also the other guests staying there?

- Being a fan means respecting their boundaries, not invading their private space. Please let BTS rest. They came to Peru to meet ARMY through their concerts, not to have their privacy taken away. Respect BTS’s privacy. Respect the other hotel guests. Please let them breathe

- As a Peruvian ARMY, I feel so deeply ashamed and heartbroken. They are ruining what could have been one of the absolute best experiences of my life, purely out of their OBSESSION AND LACK OF MANNERS

- I can’t believe this! What are these pieces of sнιт waiting for? For them to come down and greet them or what?? My Gooooood, stupid people!!!

- I feel sorry for the true ARMY in Peru, but I hope the boys don't go back there. It's awful that those people do that

- Any regular person would be annoyed with so much noise and ridiculous things like this while you are trying to rest or sleep in a hotel. wtf is wrong with this people

- Even though it was a beautiful event to watch, the boys and their staff need to sleep and get ready for the next concert, and they can’t do that with all this noise. Please go home

- Is this what this is? There are houses here too, how are people supposed to sleep? Why is it so crowded? I cant believe this, its crazy. Really sad that adult people behave like this

- They have been the absolute worst crowd of the entire tour so far, a bunch of disrespectful people, I hope they NEVER go back!!!
