Despite His Doctor’s Warnings, j-hope Still Pushed Himself To do This While Enduring A High Fever

People have always admired the wealth, fame, and immense influence of BTS as global superstars, yet they rarely realize how much “вℓσσ∂, sweat, and tears” the members have truly poured out over more than a decade of relentless work and dedication to achieve the life so many dream of today. I’m certain that if you were to spend just one day following their packed schedule, many people would end up feeling deeply grateful for their own current lives.

On stage, BTS in general—and j-hope in particular—always present themselves as figures of pure positivity and boundless energy to their fans. Even when facing physical or mental health issues, they tend to hide them carefully so as not to affect the atmosphere of the performance or the au∂ιєnce’s enjoyment. That is why it is often only through documentaries or shared behind-the-scenes moments that fans truly come to understand what these idols go through before stepping onto the stage.

Recently, ARMYs have been circulating several videos and photos showing j-hope’s condition ahead of his solo concert in мєχι¢σ, as filmed in his “j-hope Tour ‘HOPE ON THE STAGE’ THE MOVIE”. These moments immediately struck fans at the heart, as they witnessed his extraordinary efforts and deep professional dedication—even at a time when he appeared to have no strength left at all. They also serve as a clear answer to why j-hope, and BTS as a whole, deserve the global recognition and love they receive.

Specifically, just before his three-hour-long concert in мєχι¢σ began, j-hope looked utterly exhausted. He was running a high fever, constantly taking medication, lying weakly on a hotel bed, and receiving IV fluids. He had fallen seriously ill due to sudden weather changes and constant intercontinental travel during his worldwide solo tour.

j-hope later recalled: “I woke up drenched in sweat—like, so much sweat. I was confused, wondering what was going on, and then I realized I couldn’t move my body at all. I literally had to crawl. I felt like I was going to ∂ιє. I didn’t know what was happening, but in that moment, it truly felt like I might ∂ιє. I even thought, ‘This is serious… I might have to cancel the concert.’”

Both j-hope and his team seriously considered the worst-case scenario—canceling the show—as his health condition had reached an alarming level. At one point during his medical checkup, his fever reportedly reached 39°C, prompting the doctor to ask in surprise, “How did your fever get this high?” The doctor also warned him: “We’ll take care of you today. Your fever is very high right now, so we’ll give you IV fluids and fever-reducing pain and anti-inflammatory medication to help you feel more comfortable. At this rate, you can’t even walk. Once the test results come back, we’ll prescribe medication accordingly.”

What stands out most, however, is that despite his high fever and being confined to a bed while receiving IV treatment, j-hope did not truly rest at all. His mind remained entirely focused on the stage, the fans, and his work. In one video, he can be heard saying, “I need to upload the ‘MONA LISA’ TikTok… I still have work to do. And I need to memorize the script, too.”

Even though his body was completely drained and enduring the pain of a dangerously high fever, j-hope’s mind remained fully committed to his work. He may have been too exhausted to move, yet not for a single second did he forget the tasks already laid out in his plans. This goes far beyond mere hard work—it reflects an exceptional sense of responsibility, rare dedication, and extraordinary mental strength that transcends physical limits. It is difficult to find words that fully capture the outstanding qualities of this artist.

Another striking detail is that once his fever subsided, j-hope chose to step onto the stage and deliver an explosive performance at a temperature of 182°C, as if he had never been so ill that he could barely crawl. Even his manager was ѕнσ¢кed to see an energetic j-hope—completely different from the person who had been struggling with a high fever that had doctors deeply concerned and on high alert just hours earlier.

As behind-the-scenes excerpts from his solo tour were revealed, fans flooded social media with emotion. They expressed profound admiration for his talent and character, remarking that the word “respect” alone was simply not enough:

- my heart…oh hobi! he’s always pushing himself so much!

- He is still talking about work when he is in the bed feeling sick.jung hoseok we love you

- His face is so flush and red that means high temperature/fever but he's ưtill on the stage and burn it. Respect to him

- He's an angel, no matter how hurt he is, he'll never put on a bad show for his fans. My heart broken when see him sick

- at 103° fever you are so weak you can't even walk properly and this man was performing 27-28 songs with choreo and giving his 100% to it!! oh hobi your dedication and will power is CRAZY

- this’ll break me when i watch the movie, the fact that he did everything to get better & be able to perform for us, he gave it his all on that stage & was smiling until the very last minute… i’ll genuinely be eternally grateful

- Even though he was sick with a fever, he still thought about the fans and made sure to upload the ‘MONA LISA’ TikTok… honestly, ‘respect’ isn’t even enough to describe it. Let’s be good to our j-hope, cherish him, and love him even more

- Even while sick, he was still thinking about work and promotions—it completely shattered my heart. He deserves to be loved and cherished even more. I will always pray for Hobi and BTS to stay healthy and to continue moving forward smoothly in their careers.

- It hurts me to see him like this. I wish someone could teleport me so I could go shower him with affection, give him lots of hugs, and take care of him. My baby
