As fans may already know, Dispatch has planned an exhibition titled “D’FESTA THE ORIGIN,” bringing together 48 artists from nine of K-pop’s leading groups: G-Dragon, BTS, Stray Kids, TXT, aespa, ENHYPEN, IVE, RIIZE, and CORTIS. The exhibition was recently announced to run from October 23 to November 30 at IFC Mall L3 MPX Gallery in Yeouido, Seoul.
D’FESTA THE ORIGIN is presented as an exhibition that offers an artistic take on the K-pop experience. Featuring 48 artists alongside some of South кσяєα’s leading creatives, the project brings together music, fashion, imagery, and each artist’s unique worldview into one distinctive experience. Through photography, videos, visual art, spatial design, and interactive elements, visitors are expected to explore K-pop from fresh perspectives.

From the moment the exhibition was announced, fans were amazed, particularly after the release of a teaser video featuring all 48 artists in a single frame. Many believed that only an influential media outlet like Dispatch could bring together so many famous K-pop idols. Curiosity about the behind-the-scenes process, where artists from different groups supposedly met and filmed together, also helped draw considerable attention to the exhibition.
However, recent controversy has emerged after fans discovered what they believe may have been a “misleading impression” created by Dispatch to generate greater public interest in the event.
Specifically, several clips taken from the original footage, featuring close-up shots of Jungkook, V, and other BTS members dressed in black, have been circulating online amid suspicions that the footage was edited. Fans believe these details may indicate that the video showing all 48 artists standing together against a wнιтe wave-like background was actually digitally composited using editing techniques or a green screen, rather than being genuine footage of all the artists appearing together at the same time.
Initially, fans were impressed and intrigued because they believed Dispatch was seemingly the only media outlet capable of bringing so many famous K-pop idols together in one frame for a single event. Dispatch itself, along with its promotional materials, frequently used the term “gather” to describe the stars’ involvement in the project, further fueling widespread discussion about the exhibition on social media.
Some people have argued that using compositing techniques is not particularly surprising. Given the idols’ packed schedules, arranging for all 48 artists to be physically present at the same location would be a major challenge. The production reportedly took around four months and involved more than 30 different sets.
Nevertheless, many fans have struggled to hide their disappointment, with some even expressing anger and accusing Dispatch of misleading the public to generate engagement for the event. Dispatch’s seemingly exaggerated promotional approach—particularly its repeated claims that 48 stars had “gathered” for the project—has led some fans to question whether this was intentional.
On social media, many fans have voiced their frustration: "Greenscreen d*mn. I was so excited until…", "Huh???I thought they were actually all together in the same room. I was wondering what kind of Dispatch black magic could gather such busy idols like that", "Why create such a misleading impression in the first place?", "We were excited about the possibility of seeing our favorite idols interacting behind the scenes. Now it feels like that excitement was used to generate hype for the exhibition. So disappointing", "The problem isn’t the editing itself. It’s the way this project was promoted", "That’s just how the media works. I’ve said it before: never trust Dispatch. They just don’t dare mess with BTS, that’s all",...
