As fans of BTS or Coldplay, we all know that they really have a beautiful friendship across borders. Not only that, Chris Martin has also repeatedly shown respect and protection for BTS against prejudices.
Recently, a new statement of Chris Martin has spread on social networks. What he said touched ARMYs with their friendship:
In 2021, BTS and Coldplay had an amazing handshake with the super hit My Universe. Chris Martin even traveled thousands of miles to fly to Korea to work directly with BTS in the studio when the pandemic was over.
Both BTS and Coldplay took that collaboration very seriously and after working together, they became even more understanding of the meaningful messages in the music they wanted to convey. From there, their friendship transcends time, space and age and is one of the most admirable friendships between a Korean artist and a foreign band.
Not only that, especially Chris Martin has repeatedly defended BTS against the "negative" statements of foreign hosts. He also always gives his best compliments to his BTS friends. And recently, he also revealed the reason behind why he wants to protect BTS's freedom.
In a recent talk show, Martin shared sweet words about BTS: "They don't have the same freedom as we do and we encourage for them to be given that freedom because they are special people what they create together is uplifting for millions of young people so we feel quite protective of BTS".
His BTS's sharing makes ARMYs really touched. Chris Martin sees both the possibilities of BTS and the limits they have to endure and he wants to protect BTS. Those are really sincere shares and ARMYs can always see that Chris Martin always does what he says.
A good example is when Chris Martin and Will Champion guested on the German late-night talk show Late Night Berlin. When host Klaas Heufer Umlauf intended to "belittle" BTS because they were a group of 8 years while Coldplay has 25 years of experience. Chris Martin immediately said that BTS has achieved as much as any artists. They also praised BTS for being extremely hard working and made it impossible for the host to say anything bad about the next group.
