As many fans know, SUGA recently donated approximately 3.66 million USD to Severance General Hospital (Yonsei University) to establish the “Min Yoon Gi Treatment Center”, which specializes in supporting treatment and social sкιℓℓs development for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

This is not a sudden support from SUGA but is a long-term plan between him and Dr. Chun Keun Ah, a leading expert in child psychiatry. Since spring this year, he has been volunteering to care for and teach autistic children at the Hospital every weekend.

Not only that, SUGA has collaborated with Dr. Chun to develop the “MIND” program - a social sкιℓℓs training model using music, combining activities such as singing, playing musical instruments, and writing lyrics to help children express their emotions and communicate more effectively.

Recently, when she had the opportunity to participate in a talk show, Dr. Chun recounted a magical story between SUGA and an autistic child on the MIND program, showing the warm heart of the BTS superstar.

She recalled that it was a child who had been autistic for 10 years, could not play any musical instruments, and clearly had difficulty integrating into the MIND program: “Among the children who participated in the MIND program, there was a teenager with autism spectrum disorder whom I had been treating for over 10 years, ever since their kindergarten years.”

“This child didn’t know how to play any instruments, and in the early stages of the program, they were quiet and often expressionless. One day, while the other children were playing their instruments, the child murmured with a gloomy look, ‘I don’t know how to play any instruments…’”, she continued.

At that moment, SUGA brought a miracle that completely changed this negative situation. He approached the child and comforted him: “Your voice is an instrument too. Looks like you just have to sing then.”

Dr. Chun could not forget the moment when the child “smiled brightly upon hearing SUGA’s words and started singing loudly.” This was soмєтнing that an autistic child had never done in 10 years, making “Everyone was so ѕнσ¢кed and moved!”

SUGA’s words had such a profound positive impact on the child that they even went home and told their mother, “Mom! Teacher Min said my voice is an instrument. I’m going to sing now!” The mother shared this story in the next clαѕѕ with tears in her eyes.
