There are some ARMYs who may not know the story that just because BTS is a small group from a small company, they are disrespected to the point of being sued. That year, the lawsuit became a major scandal in BTS's career and the biggest regret of ARMYs.
Recently, with a number of awards being held, many ARMYs mentioned the big event that year. Here is a story that probably any ARMYs that year will remember well:
Specifically, in 2015, the 2-year-old BTS from a small label topped the Korean charts, charted on the Billboard 200 and sold albums that surpassed two of the three major agencies of the Kpop industry at that time. But the prejudices of K-pop fans had a prejudice at that time that usually a group from a small company was not allowed to do this.
As a result, many people from other fandoms started rumors accusing Big Hit of sajaegi (illegal bulk-buying of albums, online songs, views...). Rumors spread more and more, causing Big Hit to be brought to court.
But one thing is clear that at that time, Big Hit was still carrying a huge debt. BTS also didn't even have a lot of money to buy luxury outfits or could shoot MVs properly. They absolutely couldn't do that and they would never do that.
In the end, it turned out that BTS and Big Hit won and the lawsuit ended. But all of this started because people refused to believe that a small company could outsell a large company. And from here, BTS broke this stereotype and they proved their outstanding success, rising to the top of the world with a series of remarkable achievements.
This also proves RM's words in May 2015 to be true. He once said: "You and I, we will win in the end. We will win so naturally that no one will see us coming". BTS and ARMY have done this and made others jealous with their success.
But the story of that year still makes ARMYs unforgettable because of the cruelty of those who once accused BTS of cheating in album sales to achieve those achievements. Many ARMYs still consider it to be the most horribly fabricated story, but it is also the driving force behind creating such a successful BTS as it is today:
- The rumors was worst tbh. ARMYs during that time must feel hard to fight them. I mean they better don't touch 2015 BTS, we're sensitive to it
- It was horrible because we didn't want the boys to see the vile things people were saying.
- It was just the beginning of them outselling everyone
- I already said it but I'll say it again...I'm really grateful to the armys who were with BTS from the beginning and stayed with them because thanks to them I met BTS, these 7 wonderful and talented people who despite their success still work hard, are still humble
- Yes thanks to all OG armies for working as hard as the bangtannies did.. you all paved the way
- honestly 2015 and 2016 were such hard years for us, I am scared to think how bad it was for BTS
- Everytime i read their history i always cry idk why but i feel so blessed everytime i read it. I am so proud of them
- Just because BTS was and always will be humble, it won't change the fact that they've been ruling the world from the very beginning! People really need to come out of their imaginary little bubble and see the world as it is
- Work their way up. With no mediaplay whatsoever
- It was a teaser of what was is happening they outsold Korean counterparts and are outselling everyone in the world
- You guys use the bts underdog story when it suits you. Now that it doesn’t suit your argument you’re saying they weren’t. BTS weren’t the BTS they are today which is 100% true. They were successful, yes. But no where near the stars they are today.
