Over the years, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has become one of the most famous and highly anticipated annual events in the world. Since 2019, K-pop has become an integral part of the world’s biggest music festival. Artists who have taken the Coachella stage, including BLACKPINK, ENHYPEN, and LE SSERAFIM, have earned widespread love from fans as well as critical acclaim worldwide.
Meanwhile, ever since BTS completed their military service, multiple media outlets have included the group on lists of K-pop artists most likely to headline the festival in the coming years. BTS has even frequently been named the top candidate. According to ScreenRant, given their global popularity and the immense anticipation surrounding “BTS 2.0,” it would only make sense for them to appear as Coachella headliners—indeed, there may be no group more fitting.
And fans may not have to wait much longer, as recent information about the Coachella 2027 lineup has dropped, with K-pop superstars BTS reportedly among the names!
On the 23rd, a post from a well-known Reddit account that regularly shares Coachella-related information quickly drew attention and spread widely across social media. The account listed several artists for next year’s festival, including Dua Lipa and Tame Impala, while indicating that BTS is getting very close to securing the final spot in the lineup.
One fan who shared a screenshot of the post on Twitter emphasized, “I know that Reddit Coachella page takes their lineup rumors very serious.”
Notably, this is not the only time similar information has surfaced around this period. Earlier this month, Hits Daily Double reported that Goldenvoice — the organizer of Coachella — was actively negotiating to bring BTS on board as one of the festival’s headliners in 2027.
At the time, Dua Lipa and Tame Impala were reportedly considered the two names almost certain to appear, while the remaining headliner spot was said to be a race between BTS, SZA, Oasis, and Radiohead. Some sources suggested that SZA had the edge, but festival organizers were reportedly still making a particularly strong push for BTS.
Many fans also said they had been mentally preparing for this news since earlier this year, when reports emerged that Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett had traveled to Seoul to attend BTS’ comeback concert in Gwanghwamun in March. EMPIRE reported at the time: “Coachella's Founder & Rolling Stone's CEO were spotted sitting together with HYBE CEO Bang Si-Hyuk at BTS' concert on the 21st,” accompanied by a photo as evidence.
The outlet also noted that the sighting fueled speculation that BTS could become the next headlining act at Coachella. Adding to the speculation, fans have examined the schedule for the group’s ARIRANG World Tour, which is currently expected to wrap up in mid-March 2027 — just ahead of Coachella’s scheduled dates on April 9–11 and April 16–18, 2027. The timing could therefore leave room for a potential appearance at the premier music festival.
While Goldenvoice and BTS have yet to officially announce the Coachella 2027 lineup, these signs have already left ARMYs particularly excited, with fans reacting:
