In fact, there are many idols who did not come from having musical talent or training to become idol trainees from a young age. Jin is also such a case and he even studied acting before being recruited by HYBE.

Jin and SUGA began discussing with each other how Jin thought SUGA would be successful in any field he chose if he was not a member of BTS. After that, SUGA also had similar thoughts and he assessed that Jin would be a talented actor if he wanted to pursue it.

But Jin immediately denied and shared the opposite opinion with SUGA. He asserted that if he had pursued an acting career after completing his studies at Konkuk, he might not have had the success he has now. He also gave the reason that thanks to the members, he was motivated to become the person he is today.

He confided: “My life changed after I met you guys. I used to just live my life by going with the flow. That’s why who you surround yourself with is so important.”

Jin also revealed that if he chooses to become an actor, he may or may not be as successful as he is now because he's alone and he doesn't have as much motivation as when he's with the members. That's also why he never regretted turning from acting to becoming a K-pop idol and debuting with BTS as he is today.

He added that: "You’re always all so hardworking. I watch and learn from you guys to work harder." and "But if I became an actor, I may not have been responsible because I’d be alone. I might not even have worked hard".

While, SUGA was shy and said that he himself doesn't always work hard. Jin then pointed out that even when he's resting, there's always another BTS member working. And just like that, every day looking at his brothers working hard, he has more motivation to work.

Obviously, when choosing to be an important part of BTS, Jin's life changed, acting was no longer his biggest dream. He started with his dream of acting and also went a long way by attending the best university for acting. However, he gave up his dream of acting and pursued an idol career from the beginning.
