BTS Inspired LE SSERAFIM’s Yunjin When She “Felt Like A Nobody” In America

At the present time, it can be said that BTS is ranked among the most experienced and famous seniors for new Kpop artists. They also became idols and even inspired many other young artists.

Just recently, LE SSERAFIM's Yunjin talked about how BTS helped her while she was living in America. And they were the ones who made her dream of becoming an idol further and even now she's in the same company as BTS.

LE SSERAFIM's Yunjin recently guested on Leemujin Service, where she sang along to “ANTIFRAGILE,” “Slow,” “NAPPA,” “Our Summer” and more. Yunjin is considered one of the talented vocalists of the new generation of Kpop.

During the show's exchange, she and host Lee Mujin talked about her favorite music style, how she started singing opera, and her experience living in the United States. On that topic, she opened up about the hardships she went through growing up in the country. Before diving in, she apologized "for killing the vibe."

She then explained that as an Asian living in the West, she had once questioned her identity. Overall, the racism and alienation of Asians living in the US create barriers that make it difficult for her to adjust to life there and miss her home.

She said, "Although I am Korean, I used to live in the U.S back then, so I questioned my identity. I often felt like a nobody who couldn’t get along with anyone, anywhere."

Like many others, she began to turn to music to heal her loneliness and music became her only consolation. As she immersed herself in the music, she felt she understood herself better. But there's a problem. There are very few Korean singers who have made it so deep in the American music industry, so she wondered if she could really find herself.

She went on to share: "That’s why I liked music. Through music, I was able to find myself and understand who I am. But it was hard for me to find Koreans in the American music industry. So although I thought that music is the only way for me to find myself, it made me wonder if I can really find myself."

But when BTS hit the Billboards, AMAs, and even nominated and performed at the Grammys, her mindset changed. Yunjin feels proud that his Korean compatriots have won such a prestigious award.

Moreover, BTS inspired her to become an artist just like them. In the future, as a member of LE SSERAFIM, Yunjin hopes to become an artist that many others can be proud of like BTS.

She said of her aspirations: "In the middle of that thought, I saw BTS sunbaenim winning an award in the American Music Awards, which is very famous. Watching that made me have great pride as a Korean and encouraged me a lot. So it made me want to be a singer who can also help and encourage others."

This isn't the first time Yunjin has shared what it feels like to grow up in America. She previously talked about it in an episode of LE SSERAFIM's documentary and mentioned the intense emotional support she received from BTS.

Not only that, when Yunjin first debuted, many people also discovered that she was a genuine ARMY and used to post many pictures of the day called ARMY Selca day. Hyunjin's bias in BTS is said to be V because before she deleted her Twitter account, she mentioned him a lot.

Once again we see a very successful ARMY!
