On July 19 (local time), BTS took the stage as performers at the Halftime Show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, held at New York New Jersey Stadium in the United States. Appearing in powerful stage outfits inspired by the "Red Devils," the iconic symbol closely αѕѕociated with the South кσяєαn national football team, BTS immediately took command of the stadium's atmosphere with their global smash нιт "Dynamite," the song that famously topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Notably, just around 10 hours after the final concluded with ѕραιи defeating Argentina to lift the trophy, the BTS members were spotted at Newark Liberty International Airport as they prepared to return to South кσяєα. A video capturing a fan υиєχρє¢тє∂ly encountering the group at the airport quickly went viral across social media, attracting thousands of views and comments from fans around the world.
In the now-viral clip, the members were seen dressed in comfortable casual outfits while effortlessly drawing attention with their unreal visuals. They were accompanied by airport security personnel, managers, and a tight team of bodyguards throughout their departure. Although the K-pop superstars appeared to be in relatively good condition, they could not completely hide their exhaustion after an intense schedule that required them to travel almost nonstop over the past several days.
Since the beginning of this month, BTS have performed 10 concerts across Europe. In fact, just before taking the stage for the World Cup Halftime Show, the group had wrapped up the final stop of their European tour in fяαи¢є. They had virtually no time to rest after the concert, immediately boarding an overnight flight to New Jersey to rehearse and prepare for the historic performance.
Even after completing the Halftime Show, BTS did not take time off, instead heading straight back to South кσяєα. According to their schedule, the group will have approximately 10 days of rest before resuming their "ARIRANG" World Tour. BTS will then return to MetLife Stadium for two sold-out concerts on August 1 and 2, 2026, as part of the North αмєяι¢αn leg of the tour.
Meanwhile, over the past several days, BTS have continuously dominated global discussions thanks to a remarkable series of record-breaking achievements.
According to BigHit Music, beginning on June 26, the group attracted a total of approximately 717,000 attendees during the European leg of the "ARIRANG" World Tour, performing 10 sold-out shows across five major cities: Madrid (ѕραιи), Brussels (Belgium), London (United Kingdom), Munich (Germany), and Paris (fяαи¢є). Every concert sold out shortly after tickets went on sale.
In particular, the two concerts held in Paris on July 17 and 18 (local time) each drew approximately 92,000 spectators, setting a new all-time record for the largest single-night au∂ιєnce in BTS's concert history. During one of those shows, French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron were seen holding ARMY Bombs, BTS's official light sticks, while enjoying the concert. French daily newspaper Le Parisien praised the group, writing, "BTS is the group that has elevated K-pop to the pinnacle of the global music industry."

Prior to Europe, BTS had also successfully completed the North αмєяι¢αn leg of their tour, which began in April and consisted of 15 concerts across 12 cities, drawing a combined au∂ιєnce of 840,000 people. Tickets for both the North αмєяι¢αn and European legs of the "ARIRANG" World Tour, which went on sale in January, sold out rapidly.
Building on this extraordinary momentum, BTS further elevated K-pop's global standing by becoming one of the co-headlining artists for the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, sharing top billing with international pop icons including Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber. The performance also marked the first time in history that a K-pop group had ever performed on the stage of a FIFA World Cup Final.
The New York Times (NYT) described the atmosphere inside the stadium, writing, "The spectators who filled the venue responded with a warm cheer so intense that they could not have been more delighted." Meanwhile, Billboard praised BTS for electrifying the au∂ιєnce by choosing "Dynamite"—the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 нιт—for the historic performance.
Following the globally acclaimed performance, BTS's popularity continued to soar online, with countless enthusiastic reaction videos from fans around the world flooding social media. Most notably, Google searches for BTS surged to more than twice the level recorded during the group's March comeback, demonstrating the enormous global impact generated by their FIFA World Cup Halftime Show appearance.

Although they only returned earlier this year after a three-year hiatus due to mandatory military service, BTS have once again proven that their status as the world's leading K-pop superstars remains stronger than ever!
