BTS Faces Their First Issue on the World Tour in Chile, and Members’ Reactions Spark Buzz

On October 18, BTS wrapped up their three-night sold-out concert series at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile. In April, media outlets had projected that each show would attract more than 48,000 attendees. However, according to BioBioChile, the actual attendance exceeded 60,000 people per night, highlighting the overwhelming success of the long-awaited performances after nine years.

The local au∂ιєnce’s enthusiastic support was also remarkable, with fans never stopping singing along or cheering for even a second throughout the two-hour shows on any of the three nights. In response to the local fans’ enthusiasm, the superstars also gave their all and delivered energetic performances. And one of the clearest examples of this was their reaction to a technical issue during the final night’s performance!

Specifically, during their performance of “2.0,” the stage lift and elevating platform malfunctioned, failing to operate and rotate 360 degrees as originally designed. The issue disrupted the choreography and stage arrangements, restricting the members’ positions onstage while making it difficult for fans in certain viewing sections to follow the performance. Even the camera crew struggled to capture the performance as intended.

Nevertheless, BTS professionally completed the performance and continued the show with “Normal.” What surprised fans, however, was that after the song ended, instead of proceeding with their usual interaction with the au∂ιєnce, Jungkook turned back to ask the other members, “Should we perform 2.0 again? One more time?” The group quickly agreed.

RM pointed out, “If we're gonna perform again, let's face the back this time.” Jimin agreed, saying, “Right, they were barely able to see the first verse,” and Jungkook echoed his sentiment. SUGA also added, “We'd still have to face the front again twice though.” Jimin responded, “Yeah, so we'll retreat a bit from there, oh wait, we're going around again as usual right?”

RM then asked the interpreter to relay his explanation to the au∂ιєnce: “Guys, we'll be performing 2.0 again due to an issue related to the lift. In return, you guys gotta enjoy it like you're watching it for the first time, okay?” Needless to say, the entire crowd at Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos erupted in cheers in response.

BTS’s reaction to the incident quickly spread across social media, drawing widespread attention from fans and netizens. Many praised the group’s professionalism and commitment to excellence. Despite the concert’s tight schedule and the technical issue being no fault of their own, the members took the initiative to make it up to ARMY by performing the entire song again, putting the au∂ιєnce’s experience first.

BTS’s dedication to their craft and respect for their au∂ιєnce have never faded, even as they have become some of the biggest superstars in K-pop today. This is also one of the reasons why BTS continues to receive such unwavering love from ARMY around the world:

- BTS always proving why theyre at the top & the best, because I haven’t seen an act like this, but since they care about ARMY so much, they did it the second time. I just fell in love with them again

- Which group shows this effort to every part of their fandom after 13 years of debut while being called the biggest act in the world?!?!?!? THATS BTS AND THEIR PROFESSIONALISM

- Other would have moved on. But BTS know what they promised their fans. A 360 performance. Not even the crew's fails could stop them from making army happy

- The way they said "again" like it was the easiest decision ever no hesitation no panic just pure professionalism

- Our precious seven being as considerated and devoted as ever! BTS is just special. Professional yes.

- I think it's the love the have for Army and how much efforts was needed to get their tickets to watch them perform, they would want to perform to their best for them. That's why I love them so much

- OMG We are so luck to have them, who would even do this in this era I am so glad I'm a army

- The lift failing didn’t stop them from giving armys the performance they deserved, even if that meant performing it twice. that’s what professionalism and dedication look like. i admire them so so much

- BTS truly doesn’t stop thinking about the fans first. They always give 110% just to make sure every single person has the best night of their lives
