For more than 10 years in the entertainment industry, BTS’s brand identity has been defined by kindness, hard work, a clean reputation with no scandals, and always putting their work first. BTS are consistently described as idols with “golden personalities” by everyone who has ever interacted with them—from pαѕѕersby, staff members, fans, colleagues, seniors in the industry, and even politicians.
Meanwhile, a large part of the group’s success as global superstars comes from their discipline. BTS are famous for their strong work ethic, intense training routines, professional attitude, and overwhelming sense of responsibility toward every project they take on.

Maintaining both good character and strong discipline for more than a decade—especially for stars who have reached the pinnacle of fame like BTS—is not an easy task. The entertainment industry has seen many cases of celebrities who became complacent with their own fame, only to see their careers collapse. But BTS are different—they have never ℓσѕт their inherently good nature, and because of that, no temptation has ever been able to defeat them.
To keep BTS grounded in these values, the role of their parents’ education from a young age cannot be overlooked. There’s a saying: “Strict parents raise disciplined children” and it fits this case perfectly. In many interviews, the members have talked about the strict rules or family principles they grew up with, all of which played an important part in shaping their moral character and lifestyle.
Starting with Jin’s family: he was born into a family with two sons, and both his parents are business owners in Gwancheon. While his father was busy managing the family business, his mother was the primary caregiver who raised the children and set many strict rules—rules Jin still follows to this day.
For example, Jin always sits with a straight back, with or without a chair, in every situation. This habit was soмєтнing his mother insisted on whenever he watched TV as a child.

Another example: Jin’s mother rarely allowed her children to eat snacks because she believed they contained additives and weren’t nutritious. Instead, she prepared delicious home-cooked meals so her children could grow up healthy and physically strong.
BTS members have also shared that Jin’s family is exceptionally well-mannered. Having been taught social etiquette and communication sкιℓℓs from a young age, it’s no surprise that BTS’s eldest member is so eloquent in interviews and has never once been criticized for his behavior.

Next, SUGA’s story and his relationship with his parents is quite unique. At first, his parents did not support his dream of becoming a producer and an idol. But after seeing his pαѕѕion, they agreed to let him pursue what he wanted—on the condition that he complete basic education to secure a stable future.
In the end, not only did SUGA perform well in high school, he also debuted successfully with BTS. He later completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees while building a highly successful career as a world-renowned producer and idol, earning numerous awards.
Another interesting point is that SUGA inherited many wonderful traits from his mother, including her artistic talent and dry sense of humor.

Similarly, j-hope also faced resistance from his father when he first wanted to pursue the arts. His father, a language teacher, was very strict and wanted him to focus on academics instead of dance. To prove he could succeed in both school and dancing, j-hope stu∂ιєd hard during the day and trained late into the night at his dance academy.
Meanwhile, j-hope’s mother supported him from the very beginning. She even worked multiple jobs to pay for his dance lessons. Motivated by his mother’s love and wanting to prove himself to his father, j-hope became even more determined to work hard and chase his dream.
The j-hope we see today—tireless, perfectionistic, and flawless in every move—is the result of those years of effort. Eventually, both of his parents became his biggest fans and are incredibly proud of their son’s dedication.

As for RM, he stands out for his artistic talent, fluent English, intelligence, and emotional maturity—all thanks to the progressive upbringing and education his mother gave him.
RM once shared that his mother encouraged him to learn English by watching the show “Friends.” She also bought him his first microphone, priced at 45 dollars, after he kept his promise to achieve high grades in school.
He also inherited his love for art and museums from his mother. He has been visiting art museums with her since elementary school, and it is still a habit he maintains today.

In Jimin’s family, his parents established a rule that family members must be each other’s emotional support. Because of this, whenever he feels exhausted, Jimin overcomes it by confiding in his family. In a 2021 Weverse interview, he shared how he seeks advice from his mother during difficult times.
Not only that, as the eldest son in a family that values tradition, Jimin had to learn etiquette and rituals from a young age. These lessons were not just verbal instructions but became deeply ingrained in him. From polite bows, listening attentively when others speak, to being mindful in every small gesture—everything reflects the traditional upbringing he received.

Like Jimin’s family, V’s family also values emotional closeness. V has said that his parents were his strongest emotional anchors, even though they couldn't always be with him and his siblings when they were young because they were busy making a living.
Still, they never missed any important moment of his life. V’s father was the one who brought him to Big Hit to sign his contract. In V’s first year as a trainee in Seoul, his mother bought him an expensive winter coat—even though the family wasn’t wealthy—because she didn’t want him to feel looked down on by others in the big city.
Their love left a deep imprint on him and shaped V’s kind, empathetic heart. In the industry, no one can resist his friendly, warm, and gentle personality.

Lastly, for the Golden Maknae Jungkook, both his parents were not particularly strict. They gave him the freedom to decide what he wanted and only gave advice when necessary. Jungkook has said he’s grateful that he grew up without excessive pressure or expectations and was allowed to develop freely.
However, that didn’t mean his mother let him cross every line. In a live broadcast, Jungkook revealed his mother’s reaction after she caught him cheating on a spelling test—an experience he said he never forgot.
"When I was little, I cheated on a spelling test and I got into a lot of trouble. I got a really good spanking. My mom…I’m not sure what she told me, to be honest, but I think it was soмєтнing like, “I don’t care if you get 100 or 0 on your tests. I don’t care about that. But the issue here is that you cheated". I made a big mistake", he confessed.

Thanks to that kind of upbringing, young Jungkook learned the importance of honesty. From then on, he never made the same mistake again, and today, BTS’s Golden Maknae is one of the most straightforward and honest artists we know.
Although the members grew up in different circumstances and with different parenting styles, all of their parents share one thing in common: they raised their children with love and integrity, teaching them to become good people. That vision shaped BTS into the talented, globally renowned artists known for their noble character and compαѕѕionate hearts. These values weren’t formed overnight—they were nurtured through years of dedication.
