In the years 2020 and 2021, it is impossible to forget the obsession of the global Covid epidemic. The number of dead and infected people is so high that it becomes an obsession.
Even then, when things gradually settle down and pass, one cannot immediately return to life as normal. Precautions are still being tightened to avoid a serious recurrence of the disease. During that time, BTS did not stop trying to make a comeback, even under the most difficult conditions.
Lee Byung Eun - Big Hit's Director of Performance shared his experience working with BTS during that difficult period and shows why BTS has always been something different when mentioning them:
Sharing the same influence with the whole world from 2020, during the 2 years of the pandemic, BTS had to stop all of their worldwide tours. But they know that in these difficult years, lifting spirits and cheering for everyone is the most important and unstoppable thing.
So, no matter how difficult the conditions or only being able to perform on the TV screen without the audience's sound, BTS still give their best and dedicate their music to the best. BTS even practiced hard even though they were simply performing online or were sick.
This was revealed in a recent interview where he talked about his most memorable moments while working with BTS. One of his most memorable performances that he can't forget was when BTS performed Butter at the 64th Grammys.
He explained why the performance was so memorable: "Since we’re talking about the performance of the year, I’d be remiss if I didn’t bring up the group’s performance of “Butter” at the Grammys. (laughs) It wasn’t exactly smooth sailing preparing for that performance but it still turned out amazing, and people are still talking about it, even now.
COVID-19 was really severe at the time so there were a lot of twists and turns throughout the process of practicing and plenty could have gone wrong with using props like jackets, the card and lasers. But the members still practiced really hard, and even when they had to quarantine, they still talked over video chat when they wanted to get opinions on things. They really put in every effort possible. It could have ended up feeling burdensome to be on the Grammys stage and perform without anyone else, but it all worked out in the end thanks to how well they pulled everything off".
He also emphasized that: "When I saw the final performance, I just thought, “Bangtan Bangtaned.” I still think about it. It, along with “Run BTS,” was one of the most unforgettable performances of the year."
It can be seen that, even when the members are positive for Covid and others are isolated, they always try their best to best prepare for their upcoming performance. No matter how hard it is to find ways and difficulties, the group also ensures the connection between the members to create a perfect stage in every detail.
And that's Bangtan's level when working as a group!
