V and Jennie's dating story seems to have come to an end after Big Hit posted the latest announcement that it is suing the person who spread the recent rumors. Big Hit's latest announcement has given ARMY some peace of mind that the company has protected V's privacy.
In addition, this announcement is also considered reasonable in the way rumors are handled after many days of falsely spreading news. Hopefully, the rumour-monger will end up in jail in the end:
The dating rumor between V and Jennie has been going on for 3 months. It originates from an account called Gurumi Haribo and this guy regularly uploads images of unknown origin that are said to be V and Jennie dating.
Not stopping at a few pictures, she continuously posted many pictures along with private pictures of V and his pet dog Yeontan causing discomfort and invading his privacy. Even the pictures at home or in the room preparing for V's hair were revealed, causing many ARMYs to worry about V's safety.
Not only that, the dating rumors have caused many bad effects on V's reputation along with many other false rumors. ARMYs have continuously sent emails asking Big Hit to take appropriate legal action to catch the rumor spreader as well as protect V's life. However, Big Hit has not received any official response until today.
A few minutes ago, Big Hit announced that they had received information about a person spreading false rumors and the same content to attack the artist. Big Hit asserts that it is a criminal act and has collected evidence, asking the police to investigate to file a lawsuit.
Many ARMYs firmly believe that one of the most prominent and the exact person mentioned here by Big Hit is Gurumi Haribo. At the same time, when Big Hit confirmed that the rumors were false, it also confirmed that V and Jennie's dating was not true.
Below is the full text of Big Hit's announcement:
"Hello.
This is BIGHIT MUSIC.
Our company regularly initiates legal proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS, including defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, the spread of groundless information, and ill-intentioned criticism. We would like to provide an update on these activities.
We have recently filed additional criminal complaints against postings with personal attacks and defamation using new information provided by fans as well as collected through our monitoring initiatives.
We have found multiple defamation postings containing false information about the artists on platforms in and outside of Korea. We also have found that a specific poster has been spreading the same ill-intentioned rumor in multiple platforms and filed a criminal complaint against the poster after gathering all of the repetitively uploaded postings. We are currently following our legal response process which monitors and collects evidence on malicious postings for 365 days and then includes them on the complaint. Active reporting of our fans has been a big help to our malicious postings monitoring initiatives.
We would also like to share with you that after an extended police investigation, we were able to identify the suspect and the case has been sent to the prosecutor’s office.
BIGHIT regularly collects information on malicious postings regarding BTS, reports them to the authorities and files criminal complaints. We would like to stress that we will continue to initiate strict measures to ensure that these malicious acts are not repeated, and our policy of no settlement and no leniency remains in effect.

And after that, Jin also spoke up because he was so surprised with the seriousness of the incident caused by the rumor mill that he had to transfer the case file to the prosecutor's office.
