As many ARMYs know, SUGA is the next member of BTS to enlist in the army. He will also soon enlist this month and will serve his m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ service for about a year and a half.

Because of this, in recent days, fans around the world as well as ̾k̾o̾r̾e̾an media have been very interested in the specific time he will enlist. This morning, September 17, вιg нιт Music officially announced SUGA's enlistment date.

In response to this news, fans expressed their regret but also gave a lot of support to SUGA during his time in the army:

Since early August after finishing his last concert in Seoul, SUGA immediately informed fans that he had applied to postpone his m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ service. At that time, many people were also aware that in about 1 to 1 and a half months, SUGA would enlist because he was qualified.

Beginning, this made other believe that SUGA's case is completely similar to the case of Jin or j-hope - who had enlisted before. He will serve in the m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ barracks as normal instead of doing military social work because of his injury. But according to the latest announcement of Big Hit Music, it seems that SUGA will perform his military as a social worker.

Most recently, вιg нιт Music finally made an announcement regarding SUGA's m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ enlistment, including mentioning when he will start joining his service soon. In the announcement, вιg нιт Music wrote:

"Hello.
This is BIGHIT MUSIC.

Thank you for your continued support for BTS. We have further information regarding SUGA’s m̴i̴l̴i̴t̴a̴r̴y̴ service.

SUGA will be beginning his required service on September 22.
There will not be any official events taking place on the day he starts his service or on the day he enters the training camp. We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting SUGA at his workplace during the period of his service. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts only.

Furthermore, please be mindful to avoid getting adversely affected by unauthorized tours or package products that illєgαlly use the artist’s intellectual property. Our company will take appropriate measures against attempts at any commercial activity that make unauthorized use of artist IP.

We ask for your continued love and support for SUGA until he completes his service and returns. Our company will also strive to provide all the support he needs during this time.

Thank you."

Thus, SUGA will become the third member of BTS to perform military, after Jin and J-Hope. Jin started enlisting in December 2022 and j-hope started in April this year!

However, he will be different from other members. In the announcement, Big Hit Music mentioned that ARMYs should not visit SUGA at his "workplace" and also wrote, "starts his service". These words are related to the military social service more than active-duty military service. 

While similar to the previous members' announcement, it did not include information about the location where SUGA would enlist as a rookie. This is to ensure privacy for SUGA, his family, and members on the day he enlists. Not only that, it also shows respect for the new recruits who joined SUGA by ensuring a safe and orderly space.
