ARMYs Outraged As Some TXT Fans Violate BTS's Legacy At Former BigHit Headquarters

Although BTS had already become a globally famous group when TXT debuted, they always supported and gave much attention to their junior group because both were the only groups managed by Big Hit Music (before Cortis debuted recently). Conversely, TXT also showed respect toward their seniors and gratitude for the advice they gave the group during the most difficult times.

The cute friendship between the two groups was also shown through appearances to cheer for each other’s concerts, award shows, backstage photo shoots, or variety shows where they worked together. The members of BTS and TXT are like brothers in a big family; they can joke around with each other comfortably but also share warm and close moments.

Outside of work, the members of the two groups also spend time meeting and talking in real life. Each TXT member has at least visited the home of one BTS member once since their debut to seek advice and motivation. This shows how close they are, and most fans enjoy the interactions between the two groups.

However, a portion of TXT’s fans are not aware of this. Recently, ARMYs reported on a controversial action allegedly carried out by a few TXT fans regarding a heritage site — the former Big Hit Music headquarters — where BTS debuted and practiced during their early years.

Specifically, the wall outside BTS’s old headquarters, which had long been a place where ARMYs left loving messages and memories when they visited the birthplace of the group, was recently discovered to have been painted over by a Chinese TXT fan, who covered these messages with green paint and added drawings of TXT’s character “PPULBATU.”

Apart from the striking green-painted area, there were also many other parts of the wall where heartfelt messages to BTS or BTS’s symbols were overwritten with TXT’s symbols or phrases about the junior group.

Notably, BTS’s old headquarters holds little to no significance for TXT fans. At the time when Big Hit Music was based there, BTS was the only group attached to that place so much and they have the most memories here. That is also why this place is considered the group’s heritage, a part of BTS’s history, or even a sacred site for the group and ARMYs.

Many ARMYs expressed outrage and regret that the handwriting and messages of BTS fans were destroyed — especially when many of the original notes had been written by international fans who had traveled to кσяєα to show their love for BTS. They also considered this a disrespectful act from the fans of the junior group, while ARMYs had repeatedly shown support for TXT until now.

What’s more, ARMYs also discovered the identities of some TXT fans who had committed this inconsiderate act. Many fans, including both ARMYs and true MOAs, demanded that these fans take responsibility for their rude behavior by hiring a cleaning service to restore the wall to its original state.

Following the backlash, some videos online later showed that the painted sections of the wall were being cleaned and restored.

However, ARMYs’ reaction remained one of anger:

- I absolutely have nothing against txt but this is so disrespectful. I know the old bigнιт building is theirs too but you can't just paint over the message written by the armys. Moas should call them out too

- It's TXT’s place too, but unlike BTS, they didn’t have to live there their dorms were in other locations. Also, the messages were written by many fans a long time ago, coming from all over the world. Covering them up and destroying those memories isn’t a good thing to do.

- I don't have problem with them writing their messages but covering the messages written by armys is so disrespectful

- This is so нєαятвяєαкιиg.. i really feel like crying.. Its not that moas shouldn't have written there, but they shouldn't have overwritten on our messages.. they are our memories.. i feel so bad

- this is so sad because tubatu would actually not like this. someone said tubatu would burn moa to keep bangtan warm, and vice versa, AND I COULDN'T AGREE ANY MORE.

- Just doodle soмєтнing like everyone else... but painting that big green background over so many ARMYs heartfelt messages? this is really rude, painful to see. I was there a couple years ago and It felt super special, I can't imagine going there and see... GREEN

- i can understand why they’d add txt there but paint over the messages of army’s? that’s just straight up disrespectful imo. you could just find another place to show your love

- That’s actually disrespectful to both bts and txt and the respective fandoms. This place was supposed to be safe for everyone to leave their message. Painting over other fans messages is disrespectful and shouldn’t be accepted.

- I love TXT but this is so wrong... yes, they are part of bigнιт but they weren't the part of a broken garage, shared dorms, beds, No proper food... There is a big difference between 2013 bigнιт & 2019 bigнιт. This place is the symbol that ARMYs were & are always there for BTS.
