ARMYs Make the Person Who Angered Jungkook Pay After The Disrespectful Post Left Him Hurt

On the 20th, Jungkook updated the profile picture on his personal account, drawing significant attention from fans around the world. His new profile image featured David Martinez and Lucy Kushinada, the two main characters from Netflix's anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It was a rare occasion for the BTS member to publicly showcase his fondness for a specific anime through his personal account, surprising many fans.

'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' is a נαραиese SF animation released in 2022. It depicts a dystopian world filled with corruption and cybernetic implants, where a talented but reckless street kid fιgнтs to become a lawless mercenary, an edgerunner.

As news of Jungkook's profile picture change spread, it sparked a Cyberpunk wave across social media worldwide. Many fans changed their own profile pictures to match Jungkook's as a way of sharing a "couple moment" with their idol. Most notably, Netflix вяαzιℓ's official account changed its profile picture to an image of David and Lucy sitting together from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The account's bio was also updated to read: "Jungkook watched Cyberpunk: Edgerunners."

While fans around the world were celebrating Jungkook's apparent love for one of the most beloved anime series of recent years, a controversial post suddenly interrupted the festive atmosphere. Even more surprisingly, Jungkook himself saw the post—and appeared to be genuinely affected by it!

Specifically, an X account named "gwadoki," despite using Jungkook's profile picture and presenting itself as a fan account, uploaded a collage featuring various anime that Jungkook had previously mentioned or shown interest in. The post was accompanied by the caption: "Like Jungkook literally watched zero anime growing up because he was too busy working. He's such a noob when it comes to anime. I can't with him, bye."

After seeing the post himself, Jungkook took a screenshot and uploaded it to his Instagram Story with the caption, "Who are you to say that?" along with a crying-face emoji.

At first, some fans interpreted the interaction as harmless banter between an idol and a fan, since playful teasing occasionally occurs within fandom culture. However, after taking a closer look at the account behind the post, many ARMYs quickly realized the situation was not as innocent as it initially seemed.

According to fans, the gwadoki account was far from the lighthearted joke account it appeared to be. In addition to the post targeting Jungkook, the account had a history of publishing content mocking, attacking, and ridiculing the singer's fanbase. One resurfaced post read: "Why are Jungkook's ajumma fans (Older female fans) always so angry?" followed by, "Are their oppas not giving them enough content? lol." Comments like these led many people to believe that the account was deliberately disguising itself as a fan account while actually mocking Jungkook and damaging his image under the guise of "joking."

Naturally, ARMY had no intention of forgiving someone they believed had intentionally hurt Jungkook. Shortly after the idol publicly called out the post, fans began mαѕѕ-reporting the account on X, filing complaints with HYBE, and flooding social media with criticism of what they viewed as disrespectful and mocking behavior. The results came quickly. Just a few hours after the controversy exploded online, the gwadoki account had completely disappeared from the platform. Many fans speculated that the owner either deactivated or deleted the account after being unable to withstand the intense backlash from the online community.

Meanwhile, ARMYs were equally quick to reject the claim that Jungkook "knows nothing about anime." Over the years, fans have repeatedly spotted him watching anime backstage, on airplanes, and during rare breaks between his demanding schedules. The idol has also demonstrated familiarity with numerous anime memes and iconic scenes, particularly from popular series such as Jujutsu Kaisen.

More importantly, there is considerable evidence suggesting that Jungkook was already a genuine fan of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners long before changing his profile picture to David and Lucy. During a livestream, he once sang "I Really Want to Stay at Your House," the emotional theme song closely αѕѕociated with David and Lucy's story—a reference that many longtime Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners fans immediately recognized.

In addition, Jungkook previously reposted content related to the collaboration between Wuthering Waves and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, further demonstrating his ongoing interest in the franchise.

In the end, many fans commented that such ill-intentioned remarks were unnecessary, and ARMYs clearly have no intention of standing idly by while their idol is attacked—malicious individuals will certainly pay the price:

- Do they think they can control someone's interest? Whether he keeps watching anime or not, that's his personal choice. Nobody can say anything about that.they should keep their personal bitterness limited to their tongues only cause they sound miserable everytime they voice it.

- Accusing someone of not knowing anime cuz they don’t post anime for 100+ hours is crazy. And adding the fact he has worked hard from a young age like it’s a bad thing when that’s got nothing to do with his anime interest?? Get em again for me jk

- Fck off anime ρσℓι¢є. Jungkook pls let us know abt ur thoughts on the ending of attack on titan

- Looks like another account acting like they’re close to Jungkook enough and crossing the line with their 'jokes.' Love how JK just called them out directly.

- Even if they weren’t trying to be rude, they acted way too over-familiar with him by criticizing his personal tastes, & αѕѕuming his history with watching anime/calling him an amateur. That would rub anyone the wrong way.

- seriously who tf do they think they are to talk about him like that?!? im so glad he posted op’s account

- It’s not fυ¢кing funny speaking to him like this and treating him like an annoying child. It’s also not funny mentioning his ADHD or potential stimming.

- Who the fck has the audacity to tell JK to go away? B1tch please, the one going away is that you
