Over the years, BTS in general and RM, in particular, have always used their influence to support peace, f̾i̾g̾h̾t ̾ against ŕäċïṩṃ or religious discrimination... He and the group have always been the top active celebrities in preventing w@r and v̾i̾o̾l̾e̾n̾c̾e ̾ as well as being a standard or representing the voices of famous people.
However, not all cases are the same and the w@r in the Gaza Strip is also such a situation. In the context of the increasingly tense w@r between Israel and Palest1ne, some opinions began to spread on social networks criticizing that RM did not speak out to support Palest1ne. He received a lot of slander just because he expressed condolences for the late actor Mathew Perry but did not express sympathy for the suffering Palest1nian people.
Faced with unreasonable criticism of RM in this situation, ARMYs defended him by making arguments about why it was not necessary for him to speak up on this w@r issue. Here's what's going on around the incident.
Remember, back in August, RM was caught up in an absurd controversy when many people accused him of having Islamophobia just for sharing the song "Bad Religion" by a̾m̾e̾r̾i̾c̾an singer Frank Ocean on his Instagram story. The 2012 song is about love without the constraints of religion, but some parts were interpreted by listeners as Islamophobic.
Anger online grew to the point where RM had to speak up himself to end these nonsense controversies. He once stated: “You keep saying that I ιиѕυℓтed a religion, but I didn’t. There was no intention or purpose to ιиѕυℓт a religion. I respect every belief and religion. That’s all I can say”.
Yet that is not the only issue toxic individuals cling to to defame him. Most recently, when the w@r in the Gaza Strip became intense, RM once again became the target of criticism for not speaking out in support of Palest1ne. Remember, just a few months earlier, he was being criticized for being Islamophobic while now someone is asking him to be "Islamophobic" to support Palest1ne. What should he do?
Specifically, in some posts on SNS, some people began to criticize RM saying that he posted Instagram Story to express condolences for the pαssing of actor Mathew Perry but never spoke up once about what happening in the Middle East. Many people believe that BTS and RM are the most powerful celebrities in Kpop today and they asked him to speak up for peace for Palest1nians.
Not only that, some also pointed out evidence that there were many protests by ḳöŕệän youth for Palestine and many celebrities also posted status lines to pray for people in w@r zones, but RM did not. That's why he's such a heavily criticized celebrity in this context.
But clearly, those are the most absurd accusations ever because, after all, RM is not a politician or President with enough influence to resolve the w@r situation that has existed for hundreds of years. Furthermore, many people do not know that he works currently for the Ministry of National Defense which makes him represent the government and have to respect some communication rules. In this case, it is equivalent to RM not being allowed to express his political views. Even South ḳöŕệä's leaders are careful when mentioning this issue to the world.
In addition, ARMYs also pointed out that in previous years RM had many times silently expressed his support for the Palestinian people through artwork. Typically, he went to the “Barakat” exhibition of Palestin1an owner Fayez Barakat. Later, RM also owned two works of art by artist Banksy. Banksy traveled to the Occupied Palestin1an Territory and created a series of artworks in 2005, including two paintings he owns. That shows how much RM sympathizes with the ḟïġḧẗing in this unstable area and is truly moved by what the innocent Palestin1an people have to endure!
Even though they clearly know that the criticism is baseless, ARMYs cannot do anything but protect RM from the growing wave of defamation. They expressed their opinions under each post attacking BTS's leader:
- Kpoppies will call him in every vile name, degarde his work, degarde his achievements. Twist his words, make fun of his appearance or what not. But when it comes to about social issue suddenly he is the standard he is the voice of kpop from out no where. They start accepting him. To say or speak about it. Wtf did your faves did??? Why don't you go and ask them? Oh right your faves are 12 failed how would they even talk about smth so sensitive?? Fk yourself fk your faves.
- I'm not sure if they're acting stupid or what. since I clearly responded to those who asked rm in quotations to speak for Palest1ne since all they care about is dragging Namjoon, not Palest1ne. Instead of asking their favorite people, they were pestering him under a harmless post
- My baby Joonie always the main target even when he did nothing wrong
- The fake activism when it comes to namjoon
- They might hate him and not want to accept it, but they know Namjoons' words have the IMPACT
- All South ḳöŕệän men have their rights restricted while fulfilling their enlistment, which means they're solďïệrs working for the government, they can't have personal projects to earn money neither they can express public politic opinions.. Half of BTS are solďïệrs right now.
- okay keeping him aside for a minute, who are the other idols that have spoken up, ggs included. they won't, their company won't let them.
- trying to condemn namjoon for not speaking about palest1ne .. do people even understand the gravity of the situation to be making it about fan w@rs.. if namjoon posts support that puts a target on him politically on which side he supports and can be used against him
- ARMYs are one of the biggest community out here that's actively engaging and talking in support for Palest1ne. And Many ARMYs out here Knows the history about the whole thing BECAUSE NAMJOON & other BTS had been giving awareness. But Y'all Kpopies want Namjoon to DYE?
- Kim Namjoon has a message for all you stupid motherf̾u̾c̾k ̾3rs: "We need someone to save the world. But who? It's you".
- BTS been speaking for Palest1ne previously and namjoon posted a drawing of a kid from Palest1ne on his story. He did but silently, it is enough
- The irony is, while kpoopies attacking Namjoon couple of hours ago, thousands of Indonesian muslims&christian ARMYs were gathered to pray together for Palestin1ans. Our donations have arrived in Palest1ne. What's the real thing that they've done beside attacking Namjoon?
- Because now y’all have shifted peoples focus off of Palest1ne itself and y’all are not talking about Palest1ne ure talking about namjoon. Y’all think that’s right ???
- y'all dragging namjoon unprovoked for not speaking up y'all are such weirdos and nasty individuals
